Exercise 1: Read the interview on page 50 and 51 of your Language Books, and answer the following questions

about his career as a footballer Fill in their names in the interview below

from a normal conversation, as usually interviews are with famous people, or about interesting events

Simple Sentences

Exercise 3:Label the subject, verb and object in these sentences

Ex: Linda traveled to Vietnam.

Simple sentences MUST have aSubject(noun) and aVerb

Often simple sentences will have another noun called an object The object is the thing that the action happens to

Compound sentences

Exercise 4: Join the simple sentences together to make compound

sentences Make sure you use the correct coordinating conjunction.

Ex: She likes cats She likes dogs.

→ She likes cats and she likes dogs

1 I eat rice I eat candy

2 She likes basketball She doesn’t like tennis

Coordinating conjunctions

F - For

A - And

N - Nor

B - But

O - Or

Y - Yet

S - So

We join two main clauses together using a coordinating conjunction This

makes acompound sentence Each clause must have a subject and a verb.

We can join 2 or more simple sentences together to make one sentence

usingcoordinating conjunctions

1 I like Roblox, and I like PUBG.
