Adjective forms of verbs

• Example:

• Form: Present participle: V-ing

Past participle: V-ed

• Usage: V-ing: - having active meaning

- the subject causing the action

- describe the nature of people/things

V-ed: - having passive meaning

- the subject affected by another objects

- express people’s attitude or feelings

Situation:

A boy is watching a film which is about a ghost’s life

- The ghost in the film makes

the boy horrified

-The ghost is really horrifying

for him to watch

Task 1:

• Match the given pictures with the suitable

verbs

• Turn them into V-ing or V-ed adjectives to make two sentences; one describes the objects in the pictures, one is about the causes of the

attitudes

• Base on some suggestions at the back side of

the pictures to make sentences
