Installation on non HL Standard Clients

1 Prerequisites

The installation program can be downloaded from the following URL:

http://fisprod.hlcl.com/fis2installer/fs_installation.html

Userid and password for the download can be received from the responsible IT Coordinator (ITC) The installation has to be completed by answering different questions to the

installation features

The outside users need to have a FIS userid and password for accessing FIS 2 of Hapag-Lloyd, including a so called FIS user profile This is administered by Access Management (e-mail: itasm@hlag.com) of Hapag-Lloyd Hamburg, IT T.O.M and gives individual access to the different FIS features

This usage is for all Non Hapag-Lloyd standard users worldwide

2 Basic FIS2 Concepts

FIS2 is a client/server application on Java basis The client communicates with the HL server via a HTTP connection making it possible to communicate on the HL intranet as well as on the internet

The communication can also take place from our partners through a firewall without

additional configuration effortby the use of a restriction to one HTTP connection that is also used by browsers

A Java FIS2 start program has to be installed on the client’s computer establishing an initial connection with the HL server

The FIS2 starter downloads program modules dynamically on demandand keeps them in a local cache On the one hand this procedure guarantees an actual installation and on the other hand it minimizes the traffic on the network (internet/intranet)

3 Installation

When opening the setup program you will see the following dialog:

FIS2 is installed per default under the programs directory (Windows) or under the user directory (UNIX) If necessary you can choose another path

The actual installation can be carried out in three different modes But only the first two are relevant for standard installation

The typical installation is used if the default settings are correct for the environment in which you will be installing FIS2

If you for instance require a proxy server in your environment to have access to the HL server or should there be a demand for several FIS2 clients with a common cache, you have

to use the customized installation

3.1 Typical Installation

You only can choose your default web browser which is needed to read the FIS2 online help

You can check the installation settings on the summary page, before continuing with the installation process

3.2 Customized Installation

The shortcuts are under Windows in a new program group “FIS 2”

If possible you should use the Java Virtual Machine (JavaSE) that comes bundled with the installer otherwise make sure you select a Java Virtual Machine (JavaSE) version 6 or 7

Normally you should stick with port 80 Only choose the other if you are on the HL intranet

In most companies the access to the internet is guarded by a proxy server

The proxy server is addressed by its IP address name and its IP port This information can

be taken from the configuration of your browser

The identification string consists of [Userid]:[Password] and is file encoded in the

configuration data

As preliminary described, during operating time the current program modules are loaded from the HL server whenever they are changed and are cached locally

In normal case this data is filed in the directory “cache” under the setup-directory If several clients have access to one cache directory (thereby the number and speed of downloads can be increased), the cache directory has to be found on one common used fileserver Make sure that all your users of FIS2 have read and write access to the cache directory

You can configure the main data folder that is used by FIS 2 to exchange data with other applications
