Getting started with ADC’s Network

Diagramming & Documentation Software from

NetZoom™

ADC® is delighted to provide you with this complimentary version of NetZoom™ This

version contains ADC's most popular TrueNet equipment shapes that can be used with Visio (5.0, 2000, 2002 and 2003 all versions) and many other software options such as AutoCAD and even MS Word This tool will allow you to design and create great network diagrams with unmatched efficiency and detail

• Up to 4 views for each piece of equipment

Let’s Get Started:

To begin this simple process and immediately begin using this very intuitive tool, simply go to the following web site to download the NetZoom tool and the applicable stencils: http://www.netzoomuniversal.com/ncpmfg/index.asp?mfgacronym=adcc

The following screen will appear, where you may select the desired viewing tool Microsoft Visio is recommended, but there are numerous choices to best fit your needs Next, select the box to accept the license agreement and then click on the

“Next” button

This will load the registration page that is required for system access

Fill out the required input and then select “Submit.” You will be redirected to

a hyperlink page to the to start the download Select “Save” and download the executable file onto your desktop

On your desktop, double click the executable file to install the software During the install you will be requested to input your business information as shown below NOTE: to ensure proper functionality, do not change the Serial Number

After the installation is complete, open up the editing tool of choice (Visio,

AutoCAD, PowerPoint, etc.) and then open NetZoom

Congratulations, you are now ready to begin designing with ADC’s product stencils!

Select the “Use NetZoom Now” button

The NetZoom palette will be displayed on the left side of the screen as seen below To begin, select “All Solutions” under the Solution drop down menu in the upper left hand corner of NetZoom

Next, select “ADC Telecommunications, Inc” under the Mfg drop down bar

For more specific detail, or to limit the visible stencils to specific product types and product lines, select the appropriate item in the additional drop down bars as shown below

Once you have located the desired product stencil/shape, simply drag and drop onto the viewing page The product attributes will appear in the lower right hand box (Visio only)

If you are having trouble finding the desired item you can search the

database by selecting the binoculars on the NetZoom Menu

This will activate the search screen Select ADC as the manufacturer and select the appropriate search option, either “Exact Phrase” or “Any of the words”

Enter the search string in the “Product Information” field, select “Search Fields” and then select how you want to display the results Lastly, select the

“Search” button NOTE: you may select the “SubSearch” button to refine and reduce the search field

The results will be brought up in a separate screen as shown

Select the desired item by checking the left hand box and then select “OK” This will return you to the search screen where you should select the “Return Button.”

You will then be redirected to the “Search” tab of the NetZoom palette Here you will find the product results of the search

When you have completed dropping the appropriate product stencils on the viewer, you can easily create an exportable bill of materials (BOM) by

selecting the export button on the NetZoom toolbar This will generate an Excel file that you can easily save to the directory of your choice
