After completing this lab, you will be able to:

! Set up a referral to another MMS Server

! Configure MMS Compass to properly follow these referrals

! Create a Replication Agreement to replicate information from another MMS Server

Lab Setup

To complete this lab, you need the following:

! MMS Server installed and running

! MMS Compass installed and configured to connect to your MMS Server

! An instance of the Tutorial HR (LDIF) Management Agent created and operated

! A partner computer with a similar MMS Server configuration

Exercise 1

Creating Referrals

In this exercise, you will set up a referral so you can search for entries in your lab partner’s

directory

Scenario

Humongous Insurance and Juggernaut Insurance have decided to share directory information

Directory administrators from each organization have agreed to set up referrals in their directories

administrators have decided to make local “shadow” copies of directory information to reduce

network traffic
