Van Cao, known as a very talented musician and highly

appreciated by the Vietnamese people, was born in Nam Dinh, on November, 15th 1923, into a poor worker family

He started composing music when he was very young He wrote his first song in 1939, and then he quickly became famous Tien Quan Ca, the Viet Nam National Anthem, was written in 1944 His artistic works consisted of songs, poems and paintings He died on July ,10th 1995
