This chapter describes preparations for installing the Exaopc OPC Interface Package, and theoverall flow of the installation procedure.

In this Manual, all the OPC server functions (Product codes: NTPF100-S1, NTPF100-S3,NTPF100-S6, NTPF100-SB) are collectively referred to as “Exaopc (NTPF100)”, and the OPCserver redundancy function (Product code: NTPF100-SX) is referred to as “Exaopc-RD

(NTPF100-SX)”

Furthermore, Exaopc (NTPF100) may be abbreviated as “Exaopc” and Exaopc-RD

(NTPF100-SX) as “Exaopc-RD” unless there is possibility of misunderstanding

In this Manual, a computer with the Exaopc OPC Interface Package installed is referred to as

“Exaopc station.” Also note that Windows OS version may be abbreviated as “Windows.”

When upgrading software, confirm release note issued separately

Follow these steps to install Exaopc and configure the settings

l Determining system configuration

• Determine the system configuration If you are using an Exaopc CS series cassette(*1),determine the control bus address of an Exaopc station

• Determine the computer name of an Exaopc station The computer name is the same asthe station name “STNddss” (dd: domain number; ss: station number)

• Exaopc offers security models as IT security correspondence When installing Exaopc,work corresponding to the security model is required Please decide the security model

in advance

*1: In this Manual, the Exaopc cassettes for connecting to CENTUM VP, CENTUM CS 3000, or CENTUM CS are collectively referred to as “CS series cassette“ or “CS cassettes.”

2 Hardware Setup

This Chapter describes how to setup the hardware before the Exaopc installation It is sary to set domain and station numbers for the following switches before installing the soft-ware:

neces-• Control Bus interface card (VF702/VF701): for CENTUM VP, CENTUM CS 3000,

CENTUM CS

• Vnet/IP interface card (VI702/VI701): for CENTUM VP, CENTUM CS 3000

TIP Specifically, before installation, be sure that the control bus interface card for the PC is correctly set When

the domain number and station number are correctly defined and a Control Bus is properly connected, the SND and RCV lamps turn on at power-on.

If the RCV lamp turns on while the SND lamp does not, check the dip switch setting of the corresponding card.

Before installing software, reconfirm that these settings are correct

Check that the Ethernet card are properly installed in a PC

• During maintenance work use a wrist strap with a ground wire via a grounding resistance

of 1 M ohm Be sure to ground the wrist strap

• When performing maintenance work on a desk or a table, place a conductivity sheetgrounded via a grounding resistance of 1 M ohm The maintenance person must wear awrist strap while performing maintenance work Take any plastic and other materials thatcan easily be charged away from the work area

• Exercise caution so as not to touch any of the maintenance parts while the wrist strapand a conductivity sheet are not being used

The following two types of control bus interface cards are available These cards have thesame functionality.

• VF702 (for PCI Express)

• VF701 (for PCI bus)

The Control Bus interface card has DIP switches for setting the domain number and the tion number The combination of domain number and station number determines the stationaddress

This section describes how to set the DIP switches The DIP switch locations are the same onVF702 and VF701 cards

• Install VF702/VF701 in the computer after setting up Windows but before configuring thenetwork settings

• Install the control bus driver when you restart the computer after installing VF702/VF701.Follow the procedure in this manual to install the driver

After you have set the station address on the VF702/VF701 card, follow these steps to install

it in the computer:

1 Turn off the power of the computer For safety, remove the power plug from the outlet

2 Remove the cover of the computer

3 Unscrew the screws fixing the slot cover and remove the slot cover

4 Insert the VF702/VF701 card in the corresponding slot and fix it to the slot

5 Mount the cover back on the computer

6 Write the station address on the label that comes with the VF702/VF701 card and paste it

in the front or other easy-to-see location of the computer

You need to install a Vnet/IP interface card (VI702) in the computer that is to be connected on

a Vnet/IP network

The VI702 card is for PCI Express, and the VI701 card is for PCI

The Vnet/IP interface card has DIP switches for setting the domain number, station numberand action mode The combination of domain number and station number determines the sta-tion address

You must set the DIP switches properly before configuring network settings

4 Initially Installing Exaopc

This chapter explains the initial installation procedure of Exaopc and various setups related tothis installation after the hardware setup

Operation

l Windows Network Setup

To properly install and operate Exaopc, it is necessary that the Windows network (more thanone adapter and TCP/IP protocol) has been installed and properly operated

Be sure to set a computer name and IP address in a PC where the network has been alreadyinstalled

l Installing the Service Pack

To operate Exaopc properly, it is necessary to install the service pack of Windows

If the Windows configuration is changed in a PC where the service pack has been installed,the service pack must be reinstalled

• After the configuration change (deletion/addition) of the TCP/IP protocol, an error red in the TCP/IP protocol service

occur-• When a configuration change such as addition of a printer or a network adapter is made,the dialog of “Some Windows files need to be copied” was displayed upon the configura-tion setup

4.1 Windows Setup Items

The setup items for Windows required after it has been installed are described in this Chapter

The following information is required for the setup:

IMPORTANT

• When using CS cassettes make sure to match the names of a computer and a station

• Set the computer name within eight characters for the computer with Exaopc for

CENTUM VP Batch/CS Batch 3000 installed

A computer name is a name used to identify each computer on the Windows network An bitrary computer name can be specified using the Windows Control Panel

ar-A station name (for CS cassettes only) is a name uniquely and fixedly specified according tothe Control bus address in the CENTUM system

When connecting to CENTUM VP or CENTUM CS 3000, you must note the following points:

• Even if no control bus interface card is installed, installed the control bus driver before ing the Test Function

us-• If using the Expanded Test Functions, be sure not to duplicate the control bus addressthat needs to be set for each connected PC

The IP addresses set for control bus adapters should be the same control bus addressesset on System View for the PCs

Example: 172.16.dd.ss

The IP addresses for different PCs should not be identical

Note that the address can be the same as “domain number.station number” used for theHIS, but that the address should not be the same as “domain number.station number”usedf or the FCS

Set from 1 to 16 for the domain number Set from 1 to 64 for station number

Note the following items regarding to the subnet mask:

• Use the exist setting of the current network environment when installing Exaopc in an isting network environment

When using CS cassettes, use the default IP address for the Control Bus (IP address:

172.16.dd.ss, subnet mask: 255.255.0.0)

Perform the installation tasks as the user with Windows administrator privileges The userswith administrator privileges vary depending on the setup procedure performed and its condi-tions

The administrative user accounts that can be used to perform the new installation are shown

as follows:

The Windows setting items regarding to network settings are explained as follows.

For a Exaopc with CS cassettes, the computer name should be the same as the stationname

The computer name can be modified after Windows installation

Choose “Typical Settings” for network settings This installs the “Client for Microsoft Network,”

“File and Printer Sharing of Microsoft Network” and “TCP/IP Transport protocol with automaticaddressing” as default even though the network adapters are not installed

7 Select [Custom size] and set the Initial size and the Maximum size to a value 1.5 timesthe main memory capacity

For example, set the custom size to 9216 MB if the main memory capacity is 6 GB, or

12288 MB if 8 GB

8 Click [Set] and then click [OK]

TIP After setting the virtual memory, a message box for restarting the computer to validate the virtual memory

may be displayed If displayed, follow the instruction of the dialog to restart the computer.

This section describes how to configure the Power Options settings Some of the items in theexplanation may not be displayed on your computer, depending on the computer's hardwareconfiguration If not displayed, the function of that item is not available on your computer

1 Sign in as an administrative user

2 Open Control Panel

3 Select [Hardware and Sound] > [Power Options]

The Power Options window appears

4 Select [High performance] under Preferred plans, and click [Change plan settings] to theright of it

The Edit Plan Settings window appears

TIP If High performance does not appear under Preferred plans, click [Show additional plans] Select [High

per-formance] and then click [Change plan settings] to the right of it.

5 Click [Change advanced power settings]

The Power Options dialog box appears

TIP Some of the advanced setting items explained hereafter may not be displayed, depending on the computer

configuration If not displayed, the functions of such items are not available.

6 Under Hard disk, set the setting for Turn off hard disk after to [Never]

7 Configure the Sleep settings as follows:

• [Sleep after]: Never

• [Allow hybrid sleep]: Off

• [Hibernate after]: Never

• [Allow wake timers]: Disable

8 Set the setting for Power button action under Power buttons and lid to [Shut down]

9 Under Display, set the setting for Turn off display after to [Never]

10 Click [OK]

TIP Configure the UPS service settings after installing the software for this product.

You must turn off fast startup before installing the control bus driver or Vnet/IP open cation driver

1 Sign in as an administrative user

2 Open the Control Panel

3 Select [Hardware and Sound] > [Power Options]

4 In the left pane, click [Choose what the power button does]

TIP If the [Turn on fast startup (recommended)] check box does not appear, this setting is not required.

After turning off fast startup, you must restart the computer

The Windows Defender software detects and removes spy ware

It is recommended to turn off this function because it is not used with this product

In a domain environment, turn off Windows Defender on domain member PCs at a time bymeans of a domain management operation such as Group Policies

In a workgroup environment, turn off Windows Defender by using the Local Group Policy tor

Edi-l Turning Off Windows Defender in Local Group Policy Editor

Follow these steps to turn off Windows Defender:

1 Sign in as an administrative user

2 Open Command Prompt

3 Enter gpedit.msc

Local Group Policy Editor appears

4 In the left pane, select [Computer Configuration] > [Administrative Templates] > [WindowsComponents] > [Windows Defender]

5 In the right pane, double-click [Turn off Windows Defender]

The Turn off Windows Defender dialog box appears

6 Select [Enabled] and click [OK]

Windows Update is a feature that updates Windows

In this product, you must disable Windows Update for the following reasons:

• With Windows Update enabled, it takes longer time to install the software for this product

• Components running the software for this product are expected to run continuously, butthe computer will restart automatically when Windows Update is enabled

TIP To use Windows Server Update Service (WSUS), install the software for this product first, manually enable

Windows automatic updates, and then set the WSUS.

Follow these steps to disable Windows Update:

1 Sign in as an administrative user

2 Open the Command Prompt

4 In the left pane, select [Computer Configuration] > [Administrative Templates] > [WindowsComponents] > [Windows Update].

5 In the right pane, double-click [Configure Automatic Updates]

The Configure Automatic Updates dialog box appears

6 Select [Disabled] and click [OK]

The Defragmenter Tool can be used to reorganize the fragmented files on computer hard disk

so as to improve the computer performance Since the performance of this product may beaffected when defragmenter is running, it is recommended to disable the schedule of the peri-odic disk defragmentation

Moreover, you may manually start the disk defragmenter when you feel the disk performance

is getting worse or when you perform system maintenance

3 Select [System and Security] > [Administrative Tools] > [Defragment and Optimize
