STATEMENT OF INTENT TEMPLATE

- Social Issue: Dengue fever

- Why: Because i was once got a dengue fever and it was very horrible for me I feel very

exhausted, I couldn’t do anything besides lying down on the bed Plus, the dengue fever is still outbreaks in Vietnam, especially in Hanoi

- Problem:

+ People are still disregard of the dengue fever

+ People only use preventation after they get a dengue fever

+ Dirty eviroment

+ Healthcare System in Vietnam uses less-effective or even fake mosquito repellents But when the Healthcare System uses effective repellents, the animal and enviroment near the

repelling area will be poisoned and may be dead

+ Many people battled dengue fever, and not just a few lost to it

STATEMENT OF INTENT TEMPLATE

- Solution:

+ I want people to understand the dangerous of this fever If they see symptoms of the

disease like muscle pain, headache, cold or red dots on your skin, they better go to the hospital and especially must not drink antibiotics, it will make the fever more badly

+ People need to use preventations such as curtain, spray effective mosquito repellent and clean your house more often

- How:

+ I will make funny short stories, which fit the teenagers The design must be catchy but

simple as possible, use mostly illustration images because teenagers sometimes hate to read many words

+ I think my zine can be released anytime, but should be in winter or summer holiday, when students are in playtime And I will sell it online through lazada, shopee,

+ Style: Comic flat design

+ Layout/composition: mostly illustration images and a few texts

+ Colours: bright colors because this is a funny story for teenagers

+ Typography: Use modern Sans-Serif

+ Methods and techniques: Illustration

- Semiotics & Genre:

+ Signs: mostly use mosquito dangerous signs in the comic, which are stick on the wall or use instead of street signs

+ Symbols: mosquito, deadly skull

+ Style: simple, cute, flat design

+ Genre: short comic

+ Metaphor: at the end of each story, the character will be dead by mosquitoes

+ Subtext: show the dangerous of the dengue fever that people should aware

- Characters are a teenage girl and a cat

- The story is about “When you have a cat in your house”

- They use a dark color on the cat and a bright but pale

background color so the cat will easy be highlighted

- They use just a few text but we are still able to savvy the

story, because each picture they draw very simple and

understandable

- There are not many objects and colors in the

background so the characters will be prominent

- In the 1st picture, they use sun lights to highlight the

main character, the cat, and the supporting character is a

teenage girl, who they draw very small

- The body movements and the shadows are simple

- In the 2nd picture, the eyes flow is right-left

- 5 tips to not get a dengue fever:

+ Don’t underestimate dengue fever

+ Keep your surroundings clean

+ Spray effective mosquito repellent

+ Use curtain when sleep or mosquito stickers on windows

+ Remove standing water around your house

- After 5 tips, there will be 1 more story tell you to not drink antibiotics and go to the hospital

if you get a dengue fever

- Only 4-5 pictures every story and they will show what will happen if you don’t do that tip
