Each project in this book is formed by folding a single square shect of paper Ihave adhered to the convention of my first book (and of all my work)

Vereran folders who have not seen my earlier work may find some surprises here, Origami animals often are made without a lot of attention to detail In particular, the four corners of a square lead quite naturally to three-legged animals Three of che four cornecs become legs and the fourth tums into a head Since I started folding as a child, 1 have fele this sort of approximation of shapes to be esthetically unaccepeable and technically unnecessary Much of my rescarch time has gone into developing new fold bases and techniques to make animals that really look like their models Some
