1 Wanting to read:

 To establish the importance of pre-reading activities in class, begin

by talking about reading in general

 To illustrate these points, give examples of different texts

Teacher A :

My students sat in groups to answer the questions Then we

went through answers together.

I asked the questions around the class, and got different students

to answer.

2.Completing table:

Good question should help the students to read by leading them

towards the mains ideas of the text

Give a demonstration to show how “a table completion” task can be used as part of a reading activity

After your demonstration, discuss the activity

3.Eliciting a personal response:

Divide the teacher s into groups Ask them to read the text in the Teacher’s Workbook and to work through the two sets of question

Quickly go through the answer Then discuss how the question in group A are different from those group B
