Hytec’s 3000 series Adapter modules are

designed to convert low-level logic signals

normally generated by timing system modules

to the high level electrical and optical signals demanded by accelerator and laser facilities equipment.

Extremely low jitter system with (typically <10ps

rms) with fast rise times (<1ns).

Delay values increments in 50ps steps

The fully modular format allows conversion of

individual signals or a fan-out from one input to

a group of outputs.

The Adapters are stand-alone modules which plug

into a mains-powered chassis unit (RIM1809) They can be used with a variety of timing

modules from different vendors.

One example is the range of timing system

modules (EVG, EVR, 4CHTIM) marketed by

Micro-Research Oy of Finland.

The fully modular format allows conversion of

individual signals or a fan-out from one input to a group of outputs.

There are two basic module types;

• The 3020 - provides low level logic to electrical output conversion

• The 3021 - provides logic to optical output

conversion.

Slots: 8 for Adapters, 2 for Power modules

Power: 115VAC/230VAC dual selectable 47-63 Hz, IEC connector Monitor: Power Fail provides logic level 1 indicating Power OK

Dissipation: 200W max

Cooling: Convection or 1U fan-tray option air-cooled

Temperature: 0 to 40 deg C ambient operating temperature

Drift: Temperature variation should be restricted as far as possible

3020 Electrical Input Connectors:

Four individual signal inputs (INP 1-4 – Lemo 00)

One common input (Fanout mode)

Inputs can be Low Level TTL, Low Level PECL (LVPECL) or CML

Output Connectors:

Four individual outputs (OP 1-4 – SMA)

One common out (Cascade mode – Lemo 00)

Amplitude: +5V or +30V (jumper selectable) into 50 ohms

Duration: 1ns, 20ns (fixed) or >1us (externally controlled) jumper selectable

Rise time: 500ps max for 5V 1ns pulse

1ns max for 30V 20ns pulse 100ns max for 5V 1us pulse Overshoot: 20% max for fast pulses, 10% for >1us pulses

Jitter: <10ps rms max input-output (5ps rms typical)
