READING

I Aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

 Develop reading skills as scanning for specific information and guessing meaning in context

 Use the information they have read to discuss the Asian Games

II Teacher and students’ preparation:

 Textbooks, pictures, poster, handouts

 Work arrangement: individually, pair work, group work

7’ I CHECKING: Reduce these sentences by

using participles or to infinitives

1 Introduction:

EXPECTED ANSWER:

the first Games held in India in 1951 only 11

countries took part in the Games but in the 14 th

Asian Games the number of countries taking

part in the Games was 44.
