I used to be a leader several times I was (1) appointed to be a leader but I didn’t know anything about separating tasks We were just a bunch of kids so we had lots of (2) arguments when doing teamwork

I think I’m better at being a follower This may sound weird but I like being

assigned Also, being a leader means I’m in charge of everything so it’s more stressful than being a follower

ANSWER

A leader that I really admire is the founder of my English club At first, I had no idea who he was until he made a speech at welcome party I was impressed since

he looked younger than I thought but mostly because of his passion Starting a club isn’t easy and make it famous is even harder He is a smart man who can

come up with brilliant ideas in a short time However, not all of them work in the first place He adapts to failure and changes his course of action, like a good leader should do Another personality of him that I value is positiveness There was a time when his club was about to close down as people weren’t interested anymore However, he didn’t give up on his club and worked on it to make it successful He works hard and grabs every opportunity that comes his way to get

to where he is today He’s also a pillar of support for the whole team and help them get through the obstacles in life I hardly see him takes a rest and always

on the move so I look up to him He inspires me to constantly work towards my goal and never give up

1. What is the impact of leaders on society?

There is no doubt that leaders have great influence on the society A leader who is good at what he does can keep people motivated and inspired He’ll work for better society and not just his own (1)

Well, I guess it varies from person to person Books and training may turn a follower into a leader without any (1) inborn talent.People ‘ll find out the leadership that has long been forgotten and have (2) willingness to take responsibility However, not everyone can be a leader just like not everyone can become a good actor While there might be a bit of leader deep inside everyone, that does not make them a leader

6. Who do you think is a better leader? Man or woman?

People may think that men suit being a leader more than women but

actually, women have certain traits to become great leaders They are better listeners than men so a communication effective or not is up to listening skill Also, women are far more patient with employees and

customers than men There are customers who have (1) high demand so satisfying them is a very difficult task Men give up easier but women are willing to wait longer for a desired result and less likely to (2) make a quick decision or (3) take action too soon

7. Do you think a leader should be a role model (or, set an example

to others)?

I do agree The effect leaders have on others is greater than anyone else and they should never (1) underestimate the impact that their words,

followers, they’ll gain respect from them If a leader is a pessimistic and has poor vision, no one wants to work for him Or when there is failure,

whether he takes responsibility or pushes it back will affect the way

followers think about him Once members don’t respect their leader, they have no desire to work and devote to it

8. Why are some people afraid of being a leader?

Being a leader is definitely not an easy task It carries lots of risk and

responsibility When followers make mistake, they somewhat affect the team but when leaders make mistake, their consequence is more extreme

be made and no one will become leader Also, there are many people who fear (2)taking on leadership responsibility because they don’t have

11. Do you think leadership would change in the future?

12.If you were the leader of your school, what changes would you make?

Well, the first thing I’m gonna do is (1) cutting down the number of homework I know that it’s a great way to (2) shape student’s studying behavior but it reduces break time Studying isn’t only about memorizing pages of theory but also how to communicate and manage time effectively Doing homework can’t teach them those skills but (3) taking part in outdoor activities or some clubs does I’ll open more clubs teaching about social skills so students can be fully developed It’s like

a little award for them after hours of studying and they worth it

I think it’s possible When having more than 1 leader, it means there are more people to share the tasks This allows work to run smoothly and any trouble will

be solved faster Also, when a single leader gives opinions, not all of them of are supported by his team but followers don’t often give voice to it In this case,

leaders can discuss and collaborate before making decision to satisfy many

people

Kids vs leader

1. How can parents raise the kids to become good leaders?

I suppose the first thing parents can do is enrolling the kids in (1)

opinions This’ll (3) boost their self-esteem which is one of the qualities of a good leader Also , parents should let the kids make decisions from

smallest ones They can either succeed or (4) end up in failure but they’ll learn a lot from their mistakes Once kids understand why do they fail and (5) have bitter taste of failure, they’ll be more aware when it comes to making decision

split the task and choose team leader Also, schools should teach team sports in physical education classes Whether it’s basketball of football, children learn how to work with team members to gain victory School camp is also a great opportunity to raise good leaders Kids have to take care of themshelves or even help with cooking Those lessons can’t be taught at school so it’s invaluable experience for them

1.Why are some people are leaders while other people are followers?

For followers, they can do whatever they like and have various options If they find someone who has already (1) set up the framework for stuff that interests them,

they’ll join them and go on doing stuff they like If the framework changes, or if they don't like it anymore, they’ll quit On the other hand, leaders have to (2)stick with their groups or work and have high responsibility in performing tasks They have more pressure than being a follower However, a leader is the one who gain respect from others and they lead the team towards success They (3) have their own voice that everyone has to (4)obey their rule That’s one of the advantages of

a leader that a follower can’t have

to serve others and takes less effort and commitment, while to follow simply go after what already been set Being a follower means they don’t carry any extra responsibility nor put out the extra attempt They have more time to do personal stuffs while the leaders tied up with meetings everyday They just simply follow the instructions and make it work

3. Is there any difficulty being a follower?

I suppose being a good follower is as complicated as being a good leader.Leaders need followers or else they don’t have anyone to (1) back them up Any

employees have to (2) meet the deadlines or else they’ll (3) get a penalty For instance, salemen at a bank need to attract customers and (4) meet sales target

every month This causes so much tension for them so without patience, they can’t (5) keep up with the work Besides, followers have to pay attention and when something’s wrong, they are afraid of being fired They don’t have many chances to speak out their opinion so their suggestions may be neglected
