THE MOST IMPORTANT VERB OF ENGLISH: TO BE

When the fist time we studied English (maybe more than ten years ago), our teacher taught us about ‘to be’ This section summarizes some important points of the ‘to be’ verb:

Theo sau tobe là:

- Tính từ, She is beautiful

- Danh từ, : He is an engineer

- Động từ ở thể bị động, QKPT: This question is given by my teacher

- Động từ đuôi ing, he is singing the song

- Giới từ: The book is on the table

LESSON 2: ADJECTIVE- ADVERB- OBJECT (tính từ- trạng từ- tân ngữ)

1 ADJECTIVE:

A adjective describes (or modifies) a noun (Bổ sung ý nghĩa cho danh từ ) có 3 loại:

He loves a lot of girls He is the …… (loved/loving) man

My salary will be reduced by my boss I’ll receive a …………(reduced/reducing) salary

<Vị trí đứng của tính từ>

- Trước danh từ: beautiful girl

- Sau động từ to be: Your score table is good

- Ngoài ra một số động từ như: get, become, stay, seem,look,sound có thể đóng vai

trò như to be, chính vì thế tính từ có thể theo sau các động từ đó Các động từ như

thế gọi là linking verb

LINKING VERB

<Sau một số động từ như get, become, stay, seem,look,sound, to be… có thể là tính từ

dạng thường, dạng V–ing hoặc V–ed (QKPT), dạng –ing cho thấy sự chủ động, dạng –ed cho thấy sự bị động Các động từ như thế gọi là Linking verb Dạng này hay xuất hiện trong bài thi toeic>

2 LOẠI TRẠNG TỪ QUAN TRỌNG

Two important types of adverb are indefinitely frequent adverb: never, always, often, usually,sometime and definitely frequent adverb: twice a month, every day

Transitive verb is the verb that causes an impact on object.( Ngoại động từ là động từ mà

Intransitive verb is the verb that doesn’t need any objects (Nội động từ là động từ mà ko

cần tân ngữ đằng sau mà vẫn đủ ý nghĩa của câu)

Ghi nhớ: Ngoại động từ sau nó có tân ngữ, nội động từ thì không có tân ngữ theo sau

->which đại diện cho accounting, mà accounting là môn kế toán, là số ít-> which là chủ ngữ số ítchọn … là động từ

-> who đại diện cho students, là số nhiều->chọn…. là động từ
