These days, in many countries, fewer and fewer people want to become teachers, particularly in secondary schools What are the reasons for this, and how could the problem be solved? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Answer:
Education is one of the top concerns in society However, nowadays, in many parts of the world, the number of people who want to become teachers, especially in secondary schools, is reduced From my point of view, it’s caused by some following primary reasons
To begin with, the Government’s policies for education in general, and for traditional teacher in
particular, are not good It is not equal to their efforts in passing the knowledge to children In financial aspect, for example, the salary of teacher is lower than one of people in other fields, even it is only equal
to a new worker’s payment while it takes teachers at least four years to study in university, or longer in colleges Secondly, teaching is hard work, which requires complicated skills Besides good backgrounds
of major professional field, or subject, a teacher need to be good at teaching methods such as
motivation skill, inspiration skill in order to motivate and inspire students on time For instance, when a student is not on the right track, it is so necessary for the teacher to give him or her helpful advices raising him or her up and focusing on his or her studying again That requires teacher to be skillful and has kindly heart Last but not least, teaching is a job which requires the teacher to spend much time on
it Although, in fact, it is a 9 to 5 job, sometimes, the teacher has to work over time, even, in all evening Especially, in examinations, it is easy for them to be out of minds when being in under snow with paper work such as marking, commenting and preparing for next lessons
To solve this problem, I believe that the government needs to take some steps It would be better if the policies which supports teacher financially are issued For example, regulations in increasing salary, extra payment will contribute to attract more people to apply to teaching job Moreover, children’s parents should establish unions so that encourage teachers in special day such as Teacher Day, helping them feel that their efforts are recognized This will boot them to try their best, as well as devote their lives for passing on knowledge Finally, their work should be reduced by recruiting more teacher And, in some situations, employing a supporter for each main teacher as private schools are applying is a good idea
In a nut shell, the lack of teachers in state schools, especially in secondary schools is becoming
considerable issue in this era The authorities need to give suitable solutions to decrease this problem as soon as possible
