Write about the following topic:

TOPIC: Some people say that the gap between poor and rich is becoming wider The rich

is growing richer and the poor is growing poorer What problems does this situation cause and measures need to be taken to address it?

Give reason for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience

Write at least 250 words

I Bố cục

Dựa vào câu hỏi, chúng ta có thể thấy đây là dạng Effect & Solution Như vậy về bố cục bài, chúng ta sẽ bao gồm 4 đoạn như sau:

 Para 1: Introduction: paraphrase the Topic

 Para 2: Effects of the issue – các vấn đề do hiện tượng đề bài đề cập

 Para 3: Giải quyết cho các vấn đề mình đã nêu

 Para 4: Conclusion: rephrase the introduction - lặp lại mở bài

II Parapraph 1 - Introduction

Với đề bài này, chúng ta chỉ cần paraphrase lại câu hỏi là được Đây là 1 bước quen thuộc nên mình làm nhanh nhé:

Một số từ chúng ta có thể paraphrase như sau

 Gap = disparity

III Paragraph 2 – Effect

Đây là 1 bài khó vì nó có thể dẫn đến các ideas tương đối vĩ mô Mình thì nghĩ chúng ta cứ nghĩ đơn giản là được

Brainstorm: khi nghĩ đến khoảng cách giàu nghèo gia tăng, nghĩa là người nghèo ngày càng nghèo, thì chúng ta có thể nghĩ ngay đến các vấn đề thường gặp: education, crime rate, healthcare, happiness Mình sẽ chọn 2 cái dễ nói nhất trong đó:

 Education: Người nghèo thường gặp vấn đề về giáo dục gì?  thường gặp khó khăn với việc đi học vì không có tiền trả học phí, hay trẻ em phải nghỉ học để đi làm Vậy việc này

sẽ dẫn đến hệ quả gì?  việc không được đi học đầy đủ sẽ làm khoảng cách giàu nghèo càng tăng

 Crime rate: Người nghèo cũng sẽ gặp khó khăn khi kiếm sống?  Một số người túng thiếu sẽ làm liều (commit crime)  dẫn đến tỷ lệ tội phạm cao

Tóm tại, ý tưởng cho đoạn effect sẽ như sau:

 Could not afford tuition fees and let children drop out of schools to work  the gap between the poor and the rich widen

 Unable to cover living cost  commit crime to pay bills/ meet basic needs  crime rates increase

III Paragraph 3 – Solution

Một khi chúng ta đã có vấn đề, thì giải pháp thường tương đối dễ dàng vì cứ thiếu cái gì chúng

ta sẽ đáp ứng cái đó

 Education: trẻ em không được đi học vì không có tiền  chính phủ cung cấp giáo dục miễn phí, hoặc cấp học bổng cho học sinh nghèo Điều này sẽ dẫn tới điều dẫn tới điều gì? Trẻ em được đi học, thì thế hệ này chắc chắn sẽ tốt hơn do kiến thức tốt, và kiếm được việc làm và thu nhập  dẫn tới thu hẹp khoảng cách giảu nghèo

 Crime: người ta phạm luật là vì người ta không có tiền để nuôi sống bản thân  vậy chính phủ cần làm gì?  CP chỉ cần tạo việc làm được là tỷ lệ tội phạm sẽ giảm

Tóm lại, Đoạn 3 sẽ như sau:

 The government could provide education  ensure better generations with higer income

 narrow the gap

 The government could create jobs  reduce crime rate

FINAL SAMPLE – Band 8.5+

Sau cùng, chúng ta có bài viết Band 8.5+ như sau, các bạn lưu ý những từ in đậm là những từ rất tốt:

It is believed that the disparity between rich and poor is becoming enormous, which leads to

several serious consequences Therefore, some actions should be considered to deal with this issue

As the wealth distribution is increasingly unequal between people, several problems might happen Firstly, when the needy ’s income is getting lower, it is hard for many individuals to have access to education because they could not afford tuition fees, and some even tend to let their

children drop out of school to work Thus, the gap between these two groups would be larger in

the future as a result of the educational inequality In addition, when the poor have financial

difficulty, crime rates might be higher, from non-violent crimes like shoplifting to violent ones

like robbery In other words, when impoverished people are unable to cover their living costs fully, they would commit a crime to meet their basic needs

It is clear that the government must take urgent steps to smitigate these problems The first remedy is that it should provide free education for children When all children have free admission

to schools, we could ensure a better generation with higher average income in the future, thus narrowing the gap Moreover, the government also need to invest time and effort in job

creation This means that when people can seek employment and have a stable income, they

would not break the law, which reduces the crime rates

In conclusion, many issues are caused by the widening gap between rich and poor It is possible

to think that it is high time for the government to take care of this concern
