The smallest kinds of bees are dwarfish bees (western-asiatic) they are up to 0,2 mm high The largest bees are called Megachile Pluto, which are up to 40 mm high

Honey bees live in clusters or possessions In one luster there live abort twenty thousand bees, although sometimes it happens that there are up to 100,000 Amongst them there is only one queen, hundreds of drones and thousands of workwomen

Workwomen are females but they do not proliferate The queen provides brood Drones arem ale bees and they do not hale stings

Bees communicate by means of dances and emiting sounds The insects without stings can communicate only thanks to sounds The dance depends on the angle of sunlight dewing

During the flight a bee makes 350-435 wing movements per

second

An average outreach of bee flight is 3 km The maximal outreach can be 10 km and more

The bees have to visit about 4 mln of flowers In order to gather nectar for making 1 kilo of honey

During one flight for nectar a bee visits from 50 to 100 flowers.

The gathering bees take the nectar from flowers, they add first

enzymes, and bring it to their beehive In their beehive they give nectar to hive bees, which enrich the fresh liquid with aminoacids,

organic acids, further enzymes decomposing complex sugars into

simple sugars and spread the nectar across many cells to thicken it

Trang 2

As the nectar thickens, honey is spread to further, upper Wells, and

at the same time the bees enrich them with the organic

The ripe thick honey is ligated that is the Wells are closed thanks to

a thin laser of wax

The bee is the only insect, whose food produced for themselves, is eaten by humans

Bees have been producing honey in the same way for 150 mln years

Honey consists of: 80% of natural sugars 18% of water, 2% of mineral elements, vitamins, proteins, dust
