I.Quy tắc và tâm thế học từ vựng

 Từ vựng là “linh hồn”, cốt lõi của việc học Tiếng Anh nói chung và IELTS nói riêng

 Không có lối đi tắt nào cho việc học từ vựng Suy ra, cần xác định một tâm thế ngay từ đầu là học từ vựng rất vất vả, đòi hỏi lòng kiên trì thật sự

 Học từ vựng phải học hàng ngày Mỗi ngày ít nhất 5 – 15 từ Sức mạnh của “tích tiểu thành đại” sẽ thấy rõ sau 4 – 6 tháng

 Khi học từ vựng, cần phân biệt được từ nào là reading academic , từ nào dành cho

speaking và writing Ngoài ra cần biết được từ loại của từ

 Không học từ vựng riêng lẻ, đặc biệt là với writing và speaking Vì từ vựng trong văn bản ( nói hay viết ), không đứng độc lập mà liên kết vơi các từ khác tạo thành nghĩa cho câu

và cho đoạn, cho toàn bài

II Lý thuyết – Thực hành Từ Vựng

species richness is just one part of biodiversity Genetic diversity, which refers to genetic variation within and between populations, has a big role, too For example, think about bald eagles in North America Most bald eagles live in Alaska and British Columbia Another large

population lives in the Gulf States, from Texas and Baja California across to South Carolina and

Florida The number of genes discrete units of hereditary information consisting of unique DNA code found within all North American bald eagles represents their total genetic diversity.

Our eagle example also demonstrates another aspect of diversity The Pacific Northwest

represents a unique ecosystem The Gulf Coast of Florida is another unique ecosystem with different characteristics Having a rich variety of ecosystems, what biologists call ecosystem diversity, constitutes another important level of biodiversity.

Preserving biodiversity at any level may not seem like a big deal at first After all, scientists have described and named nearly 2 million species of organisms They think 10 million species or more exist on Earth, but haven't been discovered What's the loss of a few species here and there?

Well, according to evolutionary biologist E O Wilson, species loss may go against biophilia, or the tendency of humans to focus on life and lifelike processes If this is true, then contributing to the destruction of living things goes against what it means to be human It also reinforces the

notion that we shouldn't deprive future generations of the same diversity of life we enjoy today

Bước 1: Xác định các từ bạn chưa biết nghĩa và dùng cho kỹ năng Đọc

Đoạn văn trên là bài đọc academic chủ đề về sự đa dạng sinh học Với những bài reading như vậy, chúng ta tra từ để phục vụ cho kỹ năng Đọc là chính Vì rất nhiều từ xuất hiện trong đoạn văn trên là từ khó, phức tạp , thường bắt gặp trong các bài đọc mà tác giả của chúng là những chuyên gia , nên việc sử dụng những từ này trong ngôn ngữ nói (speaking) và viết ( writing ) là không cần thiết Với ngôn ngữ nói và viết, chúng ta không cần và không nên học những từ phức tạp, tần suất sử dụng thấp Theo đó, chúng ta chỉ cần biết nghĩa và từ loại của chúng là đủ Nguồn cho những bài đọc để lấy từ vựng cho Reading như thế này rất nhiều

It does seem to be true that parents and teachers have lost the authority they used to have,

especially in the eyes of teenagers They are no longer seen as models for behaviour: hard work, politeness and other positive qualities are seen as old-fashioned Many young people have no

respect for these qualities or the people who represent them In fact, I think some young people

today are so rebellious that it’s possible that both parents and teachers are afraid to exercise

their authority However, I do not agree that this is the basic reason for the increase in teenage

violence.

While I believe it is true that a lack of social and emotional learning contributes to the problem, other factors are surely involved: economic factors, for example If a child comes from a poor

family and they live in low-quality housing in an undesirable area, this is sure to affect the child,

however loving the parents are.

There is also the question of who your friends are I believe that when you are in your teens your

friends have more influence on you than your parents or teachers At that age, you want to be

part of a group, or even a gang, and this might lead to breaking the law in a number of ways.

In conclusion, while I agree that lack of social and emotional learning from parents and

teachers is a factor in the growth of teenage violence, I do not believe it is the only, or even the

main cause.

Các từ hay đi kèm với behaviour (collocation )

Tương tự với các từ khác trong đoạn văn trên, bạn cũng lặp lại quy trình này Tuy hơi mất công một chút, nhưng bạn sẽ hiểu đúng hơn về bản chất của từ vựng, đồng thời đỡ vất vả hơn sau này

-> Như vậy, qua hai đoạn văn trên, chốt lại chúng ta sẽ học được các từ vựng sau trong ngày:

**** Tóm Lại : Khi phân chia như trên, ta thấy đặc điểm các từ dành cho Reading là phức tạp,

hàn lâm, chúng ta ít khi sử dụng hàng ngày ( nghĩa Tiếng Việt cũng cho ta thấy ngay điều đó ),

nên ta chỉ cần học từ đơn lẻ Với Writing , từ vựng đơn giản hơn và chúng ta sẽ sử dụng khi nói,

viết nhiều hơn, nên bắt buộc chúng ta phải học collocation đi kèm

For Writing (Speaking)

Nowadays, along the rapid development of economy, some students think that study abroad brings many benefits, while others are of the opinion that they should finish university education in their motherland

It is quite natural that people from different backgrounds may have divergent attitudes towards it

Students, who advocate that study abroad has a lot of disadvantage, have their sound reasons First of all, living far away from home, students will suffer from loneliness and homesickness Overseas

students often fell disoriented and depressed for lack of adequate knowledge and understanding of the local customs and lifestyle Secondly, many students do not want to return to their country after

graduation because most of them want to seek a more comfortable life and brighter future overseas This may result in a serious brain-drain and our country will inevitably incur a huge loss of talents

To this issue, some other students hold a different attitude, arguing that students should go abroad to study To begin with, it can broaden the student’s horizons For instance, they get a chance to experience

a totally different culture The knowledge of social customs acquired in the other countries helps them to become more open-minded Next, there are academic advantages Students can lean advanced science and technology They received a different education The book resources are more up-to-date The professors are aware of all the latest development in their fields Therefore, the standard of teaching is much higher Moreover, when they finish their study abroad, they will have more choices for their future

For Reading

Caucuses and primaries are the two ways in which the Democratic and Republican parties choose the delegates who will attend the parties' national conventions The national convention is where the

delegates officially choose the party's nominee for the presidential race

Primaries offer a relatively straightforward way of assigning delegates to the national convention Voters from each party cast their vote for one of the candidates on the primary ballot Like the general presidential election, primary voting is done on an assigned day at an assigned polling place Voting is private and anonymous Depending on the state's rules, delegates are either distributed in proportion

to the amount of votes received by each candidate (known as a proportional primary), or all delegates are given to the candidate who gets the most votes (called a "winner take all" primary)

Caucuses, on the other hand, are far from straightforward (Interestingly, before the 1960s and 1970s, most states chose their delegates through caucuses, not primaries.) For one thing, caucuses aren't

For Writing (Speaking)

There have always been differences in the types of work men and women have done However, the trend in modern times has been for both men and women to have greater freedom of choice in terms

of employment Some people might say that there is no need to go further However, in my view, wherever possible, gender equality should be encouraged

There may indeed be good arguments for allowing certain posts to remain predominantly male or female Where all-male or all-female groups exist, there may be a need for related posts to be held

by men and women respectively Patients in all-female hospital wards, for example, would probably appreciate having female nurses to look after them It could also be argued that certain jobs requiring

a great deal of physical strength, coal mining or logging, for example, should continue to be done mainly by men

However, in the vast majority of situations, making occupations more open to both genders has distinct advantages Men and women can bring slightly different perspectives and approaches to a job Female police officers, for example, may have a greater understanding of domestic violence and

a better range of strategies for dealing with this problem Male primary school teachers probably
