Description

WinCC V7.3 provides the communication channel "SIMATIC S7-1200, S7-1500 Channel" for communication with S7-1200 and S7-1500 CPUs

Communication to S7-1200 and S7-1500 can be realized with absolute addressing and since WinCC V7.3 also with symbolic addressing

Between WinCC V7.3 and S7-1500, a protected communication connection can be established

Characteristic features

· Access to the symbolic addresses and CPU alarming is effected via the online connection to the CPU only

· Offline configuration is only possible for the absolute addresses

Note Currently, no raw data tags can be used via the

"SIMATIC S7-1200, S7-1500 Channel"

3.1 Loading AS symbols from an existing S7-1500 program

3.1 Loading AS symbols from an existing S7-1500 program

This section describes the configuration of tags in WinCC with optimized block access to the address range in the S7-1500 automation system

Table 3-1

Create a new WinCC project or open an existing one.

Open Tag Management.

Enter the IP address, access point, and product family.

3 Add a SIMATIC S7-1200, S7-1500 Channel.

4 Right-click and add a "New Connection".

5 Right-click and open the "Connection parameters".

Enter the new IP address of your S7-1500 or S7-1200 here.

6 Optional: Realize a protected connection to S7-1500 by entering a password.

Note

Password protection is only provided by S7-1500 CPUs Further information is available in the manual:

"SIMATIC S7-1500 Automation System > Protection > Configuring access protection for the CPU " \3\

Right-click on the connection and go to "AS Symbols -> Read from AS" to read out the symbols of the S7-1500.

These are read now.

Confirm the message with OK.

9 The symbols of the S7-1500 are now listed under "AS Symbols":

10 By checking the "Access" check box, the tags with symbolic addressing are

automatically created.

11 These are now displayed on the "Tags" tab together with their properties.

Note If modifications are made to the controller, it is necessary to execute the

"Read from AS" command again

Note If WinCC Runtime is stopped and Tag Management is closed, neither the

symbolic addressing nor the "AS Symbols" tab is displayed any longer Both can be displayed in Tag Management again with the "Read from AS" command

open the context menu.

3 Click on "Load from AS" to import the system messages.
