CODE OF CONDUCT

Coaches should:

Motivate and encourage their cheerleaders to do their best at all times and not criticize

cheerleaders in front of spectators, but reserve constructive criticism for later, in private, or in the presence of team members if others might benefit

Be courteous to opposing coaches, cheerleaders or fans and not use abusive or profane or

gestures at anytime to anyone

Not incite un-sportsman like conduct at any time

Abstain from the possession and smoking of tobacco in the presence of spectators, officials, judge and/or team members

Abstain from the usage and administration and taking of illegal substances

Together with officials, be jointly responsible for the conduct and control of team fans and spectators

Accept decisions of officials and judges in competition as being fair and called to the best of ability of said officials and judges ~

Emphasize that good athletes strive for good mental and physical health

Be a role model by setting a positive behavior

Not initiate or have any contact with the judges during the event

Should highlight any questions or concerns that affect a team’s performance to the

appropriate official before the commencement of the competition

Adhere to all organizer’s rules and regulations

Cheerleaders should:

Abstain from the possession and drinking of alcoholic beverages in the presence of spectators, officials, judges and/or other teams while wearing team uniforms, tracksuit and/or jackets

ELIGIBILITY

All Collegiate and Secondary schools in the Bicol Region are qualified’ to join in the

competition

In fairness to all participants, the competition strictly enforces its requirements it is the responsibility of the source of the accusation to properly document any illegal participation to

an event official The team in-charge / coach(es) will be notified of both the source of the accusation and the requirements needed from that individual for proof of eligibility tf a participant is found to be in violation of this policy, the team will be automatically disqualified

from the competition

The organizer reserves the right to reclaim any and all awards (trophies, certificates, etc.) arid

remove television appearance (if applicable) for any team to be in violation of this policy after

PARTICIPATION

Participation will be per school

The event is open to cheer dancing teams of good standing, certified by the Athletics Director / Sports Coordinator and the School Registrar for College, and Principal for High School

The participating team should submit individual medical certificate from their respective

school doctors certifying that they are physically fit to participate

Each team must have at least a minimum of 25 cheer dancers, and a maximum of 40 including

props men and spotters Any excess beyond the maximum number of participants will merit a

point deduction equivalent to the total excess number of participants All are allowed to play

A team may also have a maximum of five (5) officials that can sit on the bench These include the coach, assistant coach, trainer, medical personnel or manager

Only those listed above will be allowed to sit on the bench

In the absence of the coach and assistant coach, the trainer can coach the team

In the absence of all officials, an authorization letter from the team representative stating the substitute must be presented to the commissioner prior to the game

In the absence of any officials, the team will not be allowed to play

TIMING

The competition routine prepared by the different teams must be presented within a minimum time of 2 minutes and a maximum time of 4 minutes

Note: this excludes entrance and exit from competition floor Time starts from the first

movement/cheer/chant of any of the competitors on the competition floor This also applies

Props must be set on the performance floor as quickly as possible Teams will have 30 seconds

Timing will begin with the first organized word, movement, or note of music by the team after

they are officially announced and have taken the floor The routine must begin within the

A 1m boundary will be running on the perimeter of the performance area The boundary will

be indicated, either by different colored mat or by tape {outer line of tape shall be the ˆ boundaries and the width of the tape shall be set within the performance area}

There will be center markings both at the front and in the centre of the mat

Participants are not allowed to step outside the performance area throughout the routine

No scoring will be awarded outside of the performance area

Performances will be done facing the North Entrance of the Coliseum

ROUTINE REQUIREMENTS

The routine must include a minimum of 1 team cheer and sideline segment lasting no less than 20 seconds and not more than 30 seconds

The compulsory cheer and sideline must be performed without music No voice-overs or

words may be recorded to make the teams’ vocal projection sound louder

The cheer and sideline must be performed with all members executing a continuation of at least 4 different arm motions simultaneously (hand on hips/thigh are not acceptable as part of the 4 different arm motions)

Filipino & English and regional dialect language is allowed for the cheer and sideline

Organized, formal entrances that involve organized cheers or run-ons with jumps, tumbling, or stunts are prohibited Cheerleaders should enter the performance area in a timely fashion

Since it is a Cheerdance competition, the team’s routine must highlight dance movement, arm

motions, and mandatory cheer Also, stated below are the mandatory requirements for the

Cheerdance routine:

Turns Jump

Secondary and Tertiary: Full pirouette At least 2 jumps

Prohibited skills:

§ Jump to immediate split

§ Herkie jump

§ Stunting- tosses, somersaults, and twists

Corresponding points will be deducted by the technical judge should a team perform any of the abovementioned skills

MUSIC AND CHOREOGRAPHY

All teams must have their performance music written on a CD Duplicate CDs must be

available at the music table in case of lost or damaged CDs The participants may also bring

flask drive and laptop as back up file

The C CDs must be clearly labeled with the name of the team

Music with overtly sexual content, racist or vulgar lyrics is prohibited

Choreography with vulgar or suggestive movements is prohibited

Routines must be appropriate for family viewing and listening

INTERRUPTION OF PERFORMANCE

In the event of an injury, music and/or technical error or any other unexpected event, the head judge reserves the right to stop the routine

The team may perform their routine from the beginning However, judging and timing will resume from the point at which the interruption occurred as determined by the judges

COMPETITION SPOTTERS

Competition spotters will be provided by the respective schools These spotters must not be

participating members in the routine These spotters shall wear designated attire

PERFORMANCE ORDER

For the competition, participants will select their performance order through a balloting system

PRACTICE AND DRY RUNS ˆ

Each team will be allocated a time slot in the practice area A team failing to use their allotted time may request a new slot, which will be at the end of the day’s rotation (subject to availability)

In addition, each team will be given 5 minutes (300 seconds) to run through their routine on

WITHDRAWALS

Once a team has confirmed participation they cannot withdraw from the competition Appropriate sanctions will be treated as a serious offense

RESULTS

Deliberate Loss/ Gross Insubordination A team/coaching staff who deliberately allows his/her team to manipulate result, deliberately falsifies records displayed conduct unbecoming of a

coach, athlete or official, as reported by the Tournament Director, wil! be fined with an amount and/or suspended or banned from the tournament, and/or to be determined by the Technical Committee This includes gross disrespect, insubordination to tournament officials

and staff

There will be no competition when typhoon signa! number 1 is declared or when excessive flooding and rain occurs Competition will be rescheduled
