an intranet calendar system that enables a company to publish important events via a central calendar, and enables users to keep track of their personal events and dates
Identifying Functionality Requirements
The calendar system that you’ll put together in this chapter will have the following functionality:
◆ Global events: These events can be predefined in a configuration file to
show up on the calendar every year These may include annual company events
◆ Holiday events: These events can be predefined in a configuration file to
show up on the calendar every year These are standard holidays with fixed dates, such as Independence Day, Christmas, New Year’s Day, and so forth Holidays that are not on a fixed date such as Thanksgiving, Labor Day, etc will have to be set up manually
◆ Weekends: Weekends can be configured to be any days and any number
of days using a configuration file Some parts of the world don’t follow the Saturday-Sunday weekend system used in the U.S and Europe
