Sections, as the term is used by this module, refers to only content sections, not to any other kind of section that may exist in your system Note as well that your content sections are subject to the access level control settings you gave them If you have restricted access to any sections, links in the Sections module may not be visible to all users If you are having problems with the display of this module, check both the access level set-tings for the sections and the Section parameter named Show Unauthorized Links.
Statistics
The Statistics module displays information about your site and hosting environment in a module position The module is configurable and can be set to display basic information about your server, your site visitor traffic and information on the contents of your site, including the number of arti-cles and web links The default system with the sample data includes a Statistics module but it is neither enabled nor assigned to any pages The module is named simply Statistics and is shown in Figure 17.36
Note
The system name for this module type is mod_stats.
The Parameters section is divided into two sections: Module parameters and Advanced parameters,
as shown in Figure 17.37
The Module parameters section contains five controls For example to display on your site, at least one of the first three controls must be set to Yes
l Server Info: Set this to Yes to display basic information about your server, including the
OS, the Time, whether Caching or Gzip are enabled, and the version number of your PHP and MySQL installations The default setting for this control is No
Trang 2l Site Info: Set this to Yes to display basic information about your site and its contents,
including the number of members, Content items, and web links The default setting is No
l Hit Counter: Set this to Yes to display how many views your content items have received
The default setting is No
l Increase Counter: Enter an integer value here to increase the number of hits shown on
the Hits counter
l Module Class Suffix: This field allows you to specify a suffix that will be automatically
appended to all CSS styles that affect this module The use of a specified suffix makes it possible for you to style this module individually
The Advanced parameters section contains only one option: Caching This control allows you to exempt a specific Module from the site’s caching, as set in the Global Configuration Select the option No Caching to prevent the contents of this module from being cached The default setting
is Use Global

Syndicate
The Syndicate module displays an RSS feed icon that is automatically linked to the RSS feed for the page upon which it appears The module is used when you want visitors to know they can sub-scribe the content of a particular page There are no filters that allow you to refine this functional-ity; it always links to the feed for the page contents There is a Syndicate module included in the default site’s setup It is assigned to the Syndicate module position on all pages The Module is named Syndicate, as shown in Figure 17.38

The Parameters section includes only four module parameters, as shown in Figure 17.39

Tip
While the default system has the Syndicate module assigned to all the pages of the site, this is unlikely to be the preferred choice for most people The module provides visitors access to a feed for every page on which it appears — a feature that is unlikely to be needed for most sites The better choice is to show the module on only those pages where it is relevant To do so, use the Menu Assignment option in the Syndicate module dia-logue to assign the module to the desired pages.

as shown in Figure 17.42 The parameters associated with this module relate to the URL content, the appearance, and the size of the iFrame
There is no Wrapper module included in the default Joomla! installation

The Parameters section is divided into two sections: Module parameters and Advanced parameters,
as shown in Figure 17.43
The Module parameters section contains the following controls:
l Module Class Suffix: This field allows you to specify a suffix that will be automatically
appended to all CSS styles that affect this module The use of a specified suffix makes it possible for you to style this module individually
l URL: The address of the web page you want to display inside the Wrapper.
l Scroll Bars: Set the control to No to hide scrollbars, to Yes to show them Setting the
con-trol to Auto means that the system will only display scrollbars when they are needed to display the entire page
l Width: Specify the width of the iFrame in either pixels or as a percentage.
Trang 10l Height: Specify the width of the iFrame in either pixels or as a percentage.
l Auto Height: Setting this control to Yes will result in the iFrame sizing itself automatically
to match the web page being displayed
l Auto Add: Set this to Yes to automatically append the prefix http:// to the URL Set the control to No to disable this feature
l Target Name: Specify a name for the iFrame This is optional and only needed where you
are using the iFrame as a target for opening a URL
The Advanced parameters section contains caching options:
l Caching: This control allows you to exempt a specific module from the site’s caching, as
set in the Global Configuration Select the option No Caching to prevent the contents of this module from being cached The default setting is Use Global
l Cache Time: The time, in minutes, you want the contents to be cached Enter an integer
value here The default value is 900 minutes, meaning that after 900 minutes the system will re-create, or refresh this module Note this control is only meaningful if the caching for the module is enabled

8 Set the Menu Assignment to specify the pages upon which the Module appears.
9 Specify the URL of the web page in the Module parameters URL field.
10 Select any additional options or parameters you want; all other fields are optional.
11 Click the Save icon on the toolbar at the top right to save your new module The
sys-tem creates the module, closes the dialogue, and returns you to the module Manager
Tip
The Wrapper module is typically used in module positions located in, above, below, or inside the main content area, as the sidebar columns are typically too small for the wrapper to work effectively If you intend to use the wrapper in the side columns, be aware that the scrollbars can take up a lot of space when they are active If you have control over the web page that is being displayed, this can be accounted for If, however, the web page you want to display is not controlled by you, then the wrapper display may be more difficult to control Placing the wrapper at the top or bottom of the content area, in contrast, give you a much wider area to work with, plus the ability to expand the height without completely breaking your page layout.
