* Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to

- guess the meaning of the words base on the contexts

- Scan specific information about music

* Method: Integrated, mainly communicative

* Teaching aids: textbook

* Procedure

I WARM-UP:(3’)

Hang some picture on the board and some words and its definition

on another side, ask S to match the pictures with the most suitable

words

1 Composer: a person who writes music

2 Singer: a person who sings

3 Musician: a person who play a musical instrument

Introduce the topic of lesson

II PRE-READING:(10’)

Ask S to read aloud the types of music in column A to make sure

that they pronounce them correctly

S give Vietnamese equivalent of he types of music

Ask S to work in pair to make each type of music in column A

with its description in column B

Ask some S to give the answers

Give feedback and correct answers

III WHILE-READING:(20’)

Task 1: gap filling base on word meaning guessing

Ask S to read the requirement of the task and make sure that

they understand it clearly

Write these words on the board:

Emotion, lull, communicate, delight, integral part, mournful,

solemn

Instruct S to read the passage quickly and stop at the line that

contain these words to guess their meaning

S guess the meaning of the words base on the context in the

sentences

Check S understand the words correctly by asking them to give

the Vietnamese equivalent to the words

Ask S to work individually to do the task

Go around to observe and offer help

Ask S to exchange their works with other S

Give correct answers

Task 2: answering questions

Ask S to read the requirement of the task and make sure that
