The PXA255 đến tận tháng 3 - 2003 mới xuất hiện để thay thế PXA250 một cách xứng đáng Cấu trúc main có thay đổi với BUS tốc độ gấp đôi lên đến 200Mhz làm tăng tốc độ dẫn truyền dữ liệu đồng thời điện thế tiêu thụ thấp hơn với 1.3v ở xung 400Mhz làm giảm đc thời gian dùng pin trên thiết bị cầm tay
