Preface

In the context of an increasingly competitive and constantly changing consumer market, analyzing risks in the production line management system and proposing effective solutions becomes a key factor helps businesses maintain a solid position in the market and gain trust from consumers Specifically, Masan Group - one of Vietnam's leading corporations in the field

of consumer goods has built familiar brands such as Chinsu, Nam Ngu and Omachi, With

strong development, the system Masan Group's production line management system is becoming increasingly complex and advanced to meet the diverse needs of the market However, it cannot

be denied that along with this development come potential risks that can affect the performance and reputation of businesses

In the first 9 months of the year, Masan recorded net revenue of 55,546 billion VND, up 4.8%

over the same period last year Profit before tax reached 10,826 billion VND, up 7.9%, and profit margin reached 19 5% compared to 19.2% in 9M2021

In addition, in 2021, Masan achieved revenue of VND 88,629 billion, and in 2023, their net revenue reached VND 78,252 billion

The number of customers will increase significantly at certain times of the year, it is inevitable that Winmart and Winmart+ will not be able to meet customer needs in a timely manner, because market demand always changes depending on the time

e Inventory risk

In contrast to the "out of stock" disease, high inventory is a state of goods not being consumed as expected In reality, customer demand for each type of item and at each time is different, and the import of goods is based on forecasts that cannot be absolutely correct, so it is inevitable that some items will be left behind Inventory can cause a large amount of Vinmart's money to be stuck in working capital, while increasing storage and preservation costs

The first and most important challenge is the lack of data to serve the purposes of innovation and increase value for users of businesses For example, when changing product packaging, businesses need data such as colors, packaging materials, patterns, etc that consumers prefer in order to come up with optimal solutions

The last but not least challenge is the risk of losing sales due to a shortage of goods at the point

of sale This is the result of businesses not having a reasonable plan to stock goods at the points

of consumption

For retailers: Unreasonable stocking of goods is one of the problems many businesses face Tracking the flow of goods and inventory of different sales channels is also a big challenge in the operations of retailers

Impact of the system on Masan's performance:

After a record profit in 2022, Wincommerce lost nearly 600 billion VND in 2023 in the context of many difficulties in the retail industry

EO is not a food additive and has no regulatory restrictions in Vietnam The Ministry has asked businesses to report and will coordinate with relevant agencies to clarify Masan Consumer affirmed that it did not directly export the destroyed shipment and is conducting verification Omachi noodle products are produced in compliance with the standards of each export market

What is EO?

e Chemical production: EO is an input material for the production of many other chemical products such as glycol, glycol ether, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic, and antifreeze

e Antiseptic: EO is used as an antiseptic in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries

Consequence

e Nervous system: EO may cause adverse nervous system effects, including headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, seizures, and coma Long-term exposure to EO can lead to permanent nerve damage

e Respiratory system: EO can irritate the respiratory system, leading to cough, difficulty breathing, chest pain and pneumonia Long-term exposure to EO can lead to asthma and other chronic lung diseases

e Reproductive system: EO can harm the reproductive system, affecting the fertility of both men and women Exposure to EOs may also increase the risk of birth defects in children For the environment:

e Air pollution: EO is an air pollutant that contributes to photochemical smog and climate change
