2.1 Infrastructure

Vietnam's seaport system iscurrently divided into 6 groups with 45ports with a total of 272 ports,including: 2 seaports of class IA(international gateway port); 12seaports of class I (key regional generalports); 18 seaports of class II (localgeneral ports) and 13 seaports of classIII (offshore oil and gas ports).Vietnamese seaports possess about 92.2 km of long berths, with a total capacity of over

550 million tons / year

The key regional ports: Hai Phong, Da Nang, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Ho Chi MinhCity have been upgraded to receive ships of up to 30,000 DWT Many ports such asCai Mep - Thi Vai receive ships of hundreds of thousands of tons

Regarding the Cai Mep port (the port is expected to be the port of choice for Peek):

- TCIT is the only deep-water port in Vietnam can receive 2 ships of 10,000 TEUand larger one time, while ensuring high productivity when loading and unloadingcargo for 2 vessels

2.2 Sea transport market

Vietnam's logistics services have a growth rate of 12-14%, contributing about 4-5%

of GDP However, the cost is too high compared to the world average

At the Vietnam logistics forum 2020, the Minister of Industry and Trade stated thatthe focus on investment in the development of key and key transport infrastructure hascontributed to a reasonable restructuring of the transport sector, ensuring Harmoniousconnection of modes of transport However, service costs are still high because of thelimitations on the size of the business and capital, the ability to apply informationtechnology as well as the level of human resources that have not met the requirements

In general, in the field of transportation, warehousing, post and delivery, Vietnam'slogistics market is attracting more than 30,000 enterprises In which, mainly railway,road and pipeline transport enterprises (59.02%), followed by warehousing businessesand transport support activities (33.26%), the rest are water transport companies(5.27%), air transportation (0.02%) and postal services (2.34%)

According to the World Bank Report 2018, Vietnam's logistics performance index(LPI) ranked 39 out of 60 countries participating in the study, up 25 places compared to

2016 and ranked third among the ASEAN countries Vietnam is also the top rankedcountry in emerging markets This is the result of the most recent survey and also thebest result that Vietnam has since the World Bank implemented the LPI ranking since2007.

2.3 The reality of the cost of the Logistics industry in our country

At the Logistics forum 2020, a business said, too high logistics costs are one of themain obstacles that reduce the competitiveness of businesses in Vietnam, particularlyfactors such as warehouse costs, transportation, customer service, distributionoperations, factors from the macro environment In particular, the companies said thatthe state is not tough enough to support land fund, warehouse rental fees or planning tohelp reduce costs, one of the core reasons for the price of Logistics to be pushed up.high And "high gasoline prices, traffic congestion, unfavorable transport infrastructure,non-transparent surcharges, high and high surcharges ." are also among thecomplaints of experts when talking about the reasons why the outbound shippingindustry is not growing

However, in retrospect, recently, the business community has recognized theGovernment's efforts in building a comprehensive framework and policy to develop thelogistics industry In recent years, the legal system related to the logistics industry hasmade many significant developments; remove institutional bottlenecks, promote thedevelopment of the logistics industry in particular and the business environment ingeneral The biggest change of the logistics industry is to untie, give back the freedom

of business to the logistics industry in our country and take the logistics industry out ofthe business of conditional investment under the Investment Law 2020

In addition to the achievements, there are still many challenges in the field oflogistics that businesses are facing, one of which is the high cost of logistics services,the problem has been reiterated for many years, but not yet can be solved effectively.According to statistics of research company Armstrong & Associates (USA), logisticsservice costs in Vietnam equivalent to 20,9% of GDP, much higher than Southeast Asia

in particular and Asia in general, high almost twice that of developed countries and14% higher than the global average In logistics costs in Vietnam, transportation costsare too high, equivalent to 30-40% of product costs, while this ratio is only about 15%

in other countries This directly reduces the goods competitiveness of enterprises

 For the logistics industry of Vietnam to develop, it is necessary to apply bettertechnology in logistics activities This is the key for Vietnamese businesses toreduce operating costs, improve competitiveness and thrive in the integrationperiod

3 SCHEDULE ANALYSIS

3.1 Receiving goods

Cargo - children's clothing was placed in three factories in Binh Duong province byPeek with a weight of 20 CBM / week / factory and asked our company to ship thegoods to Los Angeles quickly and the most convenient This means that we will receive

60 CBM / week of cargo and deliver the goods as Peek's request by checking the vesselschedule to choose a suitable shipping line in terms of time and cost, choosing the rightport for the goods to arrive at a destination quickly The day the goods are ready toleave the port each week is on Thursday

Suppose, three factories in Binh Duong are geographically close to each other,maybe all three are located in the same industrial park:

 Option 1: our company will rent 1 container on Thursday and go to each

factory in turn to load the goods of each factory Then will go to the port toexport the goods

 Option 2: our company will hire 3 small trucks to carry the right quantity of

goods in each factory and then bring it to the CFS warehouse at the port onThursday to save warehousing costs From there, the goods will be loadedinto container

With option 1, the queuing from each factory in turn will prevent us frommeasuring the balance for the container, which may cause unnecessary risks such

as the wrong loading or the inability to calculate the position mind to line up tomake room.

or we can load 60 CBM goods into 40 feet high containers after being transported bythe minivans to the common CFS warehouse at the port So, what type of container will

we choose to facilitate the transportation and cost?

We will choose a 45-feet container and put all the goods in, because:

• First, convenient in loading into containers The goods we transport are

children's clothing, light weight, large area, so choose 40 feet high container - largecontainer area - easy to load goods with 60 CBM For a 40 feet container, loading 60CBM cargo will exceed the capacity of 56-58 CBM for this container Therefore, forthe efficient loading and transportation of goods and avoid risks, it is best to choose 40feet high containers

• Second, shipping lines nowadays tend to produce mainly 40 feet high containers

and bulk carriers also arrange space for 40 feet high containers Each container shipwill be calculated many positions to place the container so that it is reasonable andeach location will have a size that fits the size of the container and will usually be 40feet or 40 feet high container The 20 feet container will be placed by the shippingcompany in an empty position or where it is difficult to encounter situations such asdropping the container

• Third, from an economic point of view in the logistics industry, this container

has the same freight and THC charges as 40 feet containers When using a 40 feet highcontainer, although the THC charge is higher than the 20 feet container, it's only 30-40% higher So instead of carrying 3 20 feet containers, which will cost 3 times, wechoose a 40 feet high container to carry more goods, cheaper and more convenient
