lower voltage l mit, an one u it at the up er voltage l mit, in ac ordan e with 3.2.3.1

Test procedures f or the disconnecting test on internal f uses

To verif y the c r ent-lmitin b haviour of the f uses when tested at the up er voltage lmit, the

voltage dro , ex lu in tran ient, acros the blown f use s al not ex e d 3 %

p ral el stored energ an the p wer f req en y f ault c r ent avai a le from the s stem are

At the up er voltage l mit, one ad itional fuse (or one-tenth of the f used elements directly in

p ral el) con ected to a sou d element s) is al owed to b damaged

The test voltage s ould b maintained some secon s af ter a bre k own, to en ure that the

f use has dis on ected cor ectly, u aided by dis on ection of the p wer s p ly

Precaution s ould b taken when p rformin this test again t the p s ible explosion of a

ca acitor u it an the explosive projection of the nai

Co rdination of the element faiure with an a.c voltage p ak is not neces ary for the test at

the lower voltage lmit

A.2 Test procedure – Mecha ical puncture of the element

Mec anical pu cture of the element is made by a nai , whic is forced into the element

throu h an o enin in the container The test voltage may b d.c or a.c the c oice b in lef t

to the man facturer

If an a.c voltage is u ed (at the hig dis on ection voltage u2), ca acitor c r ent s al b
