As in EN 1 8 4, the r sult from the as es ment ar ex pr es ed folowing the mod lar ity pr inciple in a
form that alows ag g reg ation (ad ition) to provide complete infor mation for constr uction works These
PCR do not deal with a gregation at the constr uction works level nor does it desc ibe the rules for

NOT T e titles of the clauses in this E rope n Stan ard folow the EN1 8 4 to en ance re da ility
Trang 71 Scope
This E r opean Stan ard provides the prod ct category r ules (PCR) for Type I I environmental
de lar ations (as in EN 1 8 4) for factory made an in situ the mal insulation prod ct
C mplementary to EN 1 8 4, thePCR descr ibed in this E r opean Stan ard:
— spe ify the de lar d u it to be used;
— define the sys em b u daries for the mal insulation prod ct ;
— spe ify/desc ibe the default sc narios an r ules for defining sc nar ios for c r tain lfe cycle

Trang 85 General aspects
5.1 Objective of the complementar y PCR for insulation pr oducts
A s in EN 1 8 4 an the S o e of this E r opean Stan ard
5.2 Types of EPD w ith respect to l fe cyc le stag es covered
These PCR identify thr e main fami es of EPD:
1) EPD for factory made insulation pr od ct ;
2) EPD for prod ct inten ed to be used as insitu insulation prod ct ex clu ing ins alation;
3) EPD for prod ct to be used as in situ insulation prod ct inclu ing ins alation
To be in complanc with this Euro ean Standard, the de laration of the prod ct s age mod les A 1-A 3 is
r q ir ed as a minimum for those ther mal insulation pr od ct that have their a plca le te h ical
char acter istics (e.g ther mal r sis anc ) at the factory gate In ad ition, for in situ formed the mal
insulation prod ct that es a lsh their a plca le te hnical char acte is ics after activities on site, the
de lar ation of Mod le A 5 “ ins alation” of the cons r uction proc s s ag e is also r eq ir d The
de lar ation of the mod lesof the othe lfe cycle s ag es is o tional
F r each of these E D, man atory an voluntary s ages to be cover ed ar descr ibed as in Fig ur 1

5.3 Compar abi ity of EPD for constr uction pr oducts
In principle, the comp r ison of prod ct on the b sis of their E D is defined b the contribution they
make to the envir onmental pe for manc of the cons ruction works Conseq ently compar ison of the
environmental per for manc of cons ruction prod ct using the E D infor mation shal be b sed on the
prod ct’s use in and it imp cts on the cons ruction works, an shal conside the complete lfe cycle
(al infor mation mod les)
NOT T is is especialy true for insulation pr od cts of which their main p r pose is to red ce the energ y
consumption in the use sta e of building s Since the red ction of the environmental impacts d e t o energ y saving s
d r ing the use sta e is in most cases much hig her than the envir onmental impacts of the insulation pr od cts
themselves, it mak es more sense to focus on g od performance on building level d ring use than on compar ing
insulation prod cts
E d use a plcations ar e defined in A nnex A Cradle to g rave analyses shal desc ibe al r elevant
r q ir ement for theen -use a plcation of the pr od ct
5.4 A dditional infor mation
A s in EN 1 8 4 an ad itional A nnex A of this E ro ean Stan ard
If benefit of insulation prod ct d e to ener g y saving d r ing the ins aled l fe ar e r p rted in r lation
to the envir onmental per for manc of a buiding , they shal be r p rted as ad itional infor mation The
envir onmental imp ct shal be calculated using EN15 7 The benefit is the dife enc between the
imp ct of at leas two insulation levels for the same buiding conside ed over the whole lfe cycle The
sc narios shal be fuly descr ibed in the E D an suficient information g iven to the verifie to verify
this
5.5 Ow ner hip, responsibi ity and l abi ity for the EPD
A man factur r or a group of man factur ers ar e the sole owne s and have l a i ty an r sp nsibi ty
for an E D
5.6 Communication formats
The commu ication for mat of the EPD shal bein ac ordanc with EN1 942
