Result 1: National Recognition System (VTOS)
1 Tourism Occupational Skills Standards
- 14 out of 14 Skills Standards Manuals developed;
- 14 out of 14 Skills Standards Manuals received final approval
- 13 out of 13 Skills Instruction Videos (in Vietnamses) completed
2 Trainer Development Program (TDP)
- 2,500 out of 3,200 Trainers trained (with 82% pass score)
- 20 out of 30 local TDP Tutors accredited
- 98 Training Development courses conducted by local Tutors
- 2,000 Trainers received VTCB’s certification
3 Assessment Centres
- 12 out of 14 tourism schools received equipment and office furniture for theoretical training room
- Equipment provided for 40 training/assessment rooms at 10 schools
- 110 out of 120 Assessors accredited at the Certification Board, VTCB

Result 2: Institutional Support Framework
1 VNAT
- Assisted VNAT to develop HRD Programme up to the year 2015
- Organized 3 month’s training courses on tourism management skills in Singapore and Malaysia for 15 promising VNAT administrators
- Organized 1 month training courses in Singapore and Malaysia for 50 provincial tourism officials
- 450 tourism administrators from central and provincial tourism departments trained in tourism management and development subjects
- Provided computers to 64 provincial tourism departments and VNAT to connect to a nation wide electronic HRD Tourism Training Network
- Completed the development of benchmarks in English proficiency for tourism occupations
- Organized 4 study tours for senior tourism officers to mature tourism destinations in Europe, Australia and SE Asia

2 Vietnam Tourism Certification Board (VTCB)
- Office equipment provided
- VTOS database management and operation scheme developed
- Supported its VTOS operation
- Provided a study tour to ASEAN for Board Members
- Supported skills assessment; printed 9000 Skill Pass Books; registered 3,000 Trainees, assessed occupational skills of 1,000 trainees
3 Tourism Schools
- Provided equipment to practical and theoretical rooms of 14 schools
- 37 teachers attended 3 month training course in Singapore & Malaysia
- 120 teachers improved English Language Teaching skill
- 160 teachers trained in advanced Teaching Methodology
- 300 teachers attended TDP courses
- 12 administrators trained to run operations of the Assessment Centres
- Provided 1,400 books on tourism topics and occupational skills

- 2.200 supervisors/managements trained in TDP and Supervisory Skills
- 600 managers/supervisors trained in HR development in the industry;
- Provided VTOS Skills Standards Manuals
- 155 workshops held for the Industry on “in-house, on-the-job” training
- Provided Market Guides & Workshops for 6 European Tourism Source Markets, the UK, Germany, Spain, France, Benelux and Scandinavia
- Implemented 4 courses Tourism Awareness for Immigration / Customs Designed Tourism Awareness courses for Taxi Drivers; Souvenir
Shops; Restaurants; Craftsmen, etc.)

Result 3: Regional Accreditation and Cooperation
1. Regional awareness of VTOS
- Supported and participated in 8 regional conferences on tourism HRD
- Organized 3 international Project conferences on tourism HRD (2005,
2006 and 2008)
2 Support to regional tourism occupational skills standards
- Supported in organizing APEC, ASEAN conferences in Vietnam
- Participated in ASEAN join task force on HRD in tourism, abroad
3 VTOS accreditation
- Established and maintained working relationships with regional tourism organizations like PATA, ASEANTA, ASEAN, APEC, GMS, to obtain recognition of VTOS by accreditation (amongst others under ASEAN’s MRA – Mutual Recognition Agreement, signed during ATF 2009/ Hanoi
