What is classroom management?

 Classroom management is defined as the methods and strategies an educator uses to maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to student success and learning.

structuring of activities into time

direct teaching of skills and

subject matter

How to create a positive classroom climate?

Techniques for giving and checking instructions

1. Plan how you’re going to give the instructions

2. Think too about the speed of your speech

3. Make sure that your instructions are clearly

4. think about how much you’re going to explain at a time If you have a long, complicated, or two part activity, don’t explain everything at

once

5. Don’t start the explanation until you have the students’ full attention

6. Even in the first lesson, use English wherever possible

7. However, if you speak the students’ language, for very complex

activities it may be more efficient to use the L1 for explanations This can be gradually phased out as the students become more proficient

8. Avoid using the imperative in your instructions

9. Always check that students have understood your instructions before starting the activity

10. go around quickly to each pair or group just to check they are on task

other is B

 Don’t look at your partner’s

paper We all have a

paragraph.

 Partner has one set of

information and the other

partner has a different, but

complementary, set of

information.

 A reads to B and B will fill

missing words into gaps of B

and on the contrary.

 In the end, two paragraphs are

similar.

 We will have 4 groups And a story

has 4 parts Each group read a part

in order (that means group 1 read part 1, group 2 read part 2,…)

 Then, the teacher pick up each

group one member to make a new group (including 4 people) Like that:

First group: 1111 2222 3333 4444 New group: 1234 1234 1234 1234

 Finally, each new group will have a

completed story Which one tells the story the best will win.
