What are the GACE® assessments?

The Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators® (GACE®) is Georgia’s state-approved educator certification assessment program The purpose of the GACE assessments is to help the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) ensure that candidates have the knowledge and skills needed to perform the job

of an educator in Georgia’s public schools

Who takes the GACE assessments and why?

The GACE assessments are taken by individuals seeking admission to an educator preparation program and/or seeking educator certification in the state of Georgia

Eligibility

If you are enrolled in or are seeking admission to a Georgia state-approved educator preparation program, you must be approved to test by your program provider in order to take a GACE assessment for Georgia certification

If you have a different reason for testing, the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) will provide

approval to test through your MyPSC account on the GaPSC website See the GACE Registration Bulletin or the

GACE website at www.gace.ets.org/teacher_leadership for more information about creating your

MyPSC account and requesting or confirming your eligibility

How do I register?

Once you have confirmed your eligibility and testing requirements, you can register through your ETS

GACE testing account for all assessments except the American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI), and

the Georgia Ethics, Paraprofessional, and Teacher Leadership assessments Visit www.gace.ets.org/mygace

ASLPI: Registration for ASLPI can only be done by phone Call 1-855-225-7178 (U.S., U.S Virgin Islands,

Puerto Rico, and Canada), 1-609-359-5161 (all other locations), Monday–Friday from 8 a.m to 5 p.m ET,

excluding holidays

Georgia Ethics Assessments: Registration for the Georgia Educator Ethics assessment and the Georgia Ethics for

Educational Leadership assessment is done through the online Georgia Ethics system NOTE: This is not the

same registration system used for other GACE assessments See the Georgia Ethics Assessments section of the

GACE website at www.gace.ets.org/ethics for specific information about how to register for these assessments

Paraprofessional: The GACE Paraprofessional assessment is given at participating school districts, most Regional

Education Service Agencies (RESAs), and other agencies You do not have to pre-register to take this assessment, you do not need a MyPSC account, and you do not need approval to test A list of the currently participating Paraprofessional assessment test sites is available in the Paraprofessional section of the GACE website at

www.gace.ets.org/paraprofessional/test_takers/register Contact your district’s administrative office, RESA,

or agency for availability in your area

Teacher Leadership: Registration for the Teacher Leadership assessment is done through the online Teacher

Leadership system NOTE: This is not the same registration system used for other GACE assessments See the

Teacher Leadership Assessment section of the GACE website at www.gace.ets.org/teacher_leadership for

specific information about how to register for this assessment

How much does it cost to take a test?

*A $25 registration fee and a $28 test center fee are included in this test fee

GACE assessments administered at international test sites are subject to a $50 test site fee in addition to any test fees paid

How are the tests administered?

All tests are computer-delivered with the exception of ASLPI which is performance-based

What if I need disability accommodations?

► The Bulletin Supplement for Test Takers with Disabilities or Health-Related Needs contains guidelines,

contact information, procedures for requesting testing accommodations, and registration forms

► Further information and the Supplement are available in the “Disability Accommodations” section of the ETS

GACE website at www.gace.ets.org

What should I know about ID requirements?

Valid and acceptable identification with your name, signature, and photograph is required for admission to

a test ID requirements are strictly enforced Further information and a list of acceptable ID documents are

available in the current Registration Bulletin and on the ETS GACE website at www.gace.ets.org/test_day/id

What security measures are taken at test centers?

ID verification may include photo identification, fingerprinting, video surveillance, and signature comparison At some centers, the use of electronic detection scanning devices has also been implemented These verification methods are in addition to the requirement that you present valid and acceptable ID documents Failure to comply with these security measures may result in dismissal from the test and forfeiture of your test fees

How do I change or cancel a test registration?

For most GACE assessments, requests to change your test center, test date, or reporting time can be

made through your ETS GACE testing account at www.gace.ets.org/mygace For the Paraprofessional

assessment, contact the test site where you are scheduled to test For ASLPI, contact Gallaudet Changes for the Georgia Ethics and Teacher Leadership assessments can be made through their respective online systems

Where can I find test preparation materials?

There are free test preparation materials available on the GACE website, including Study Companions and Tests

at a Glance, that familiarize you with the GACE assessments There is also a video of a test center tour and an interactive demonstration of how to navigate through a GACE assessment Interactive practice tests can be purchased in the ETS Store for most test titles Tutorials and live and prerecorded webinars are also available

Score reporting dates are available in the Registration Bulletin and on the GACE website at

www.gace.ets.org/scores/get
