08/19 to present - Senior Accountant

Destination Niagara U.S.A – Domestic and international tourism company for Niagara Falls and all

of the Western New York region

 Direct hire away from Accountemps – including payment of their separation fee

 After initial short term assignment to catch up unfinished month-end backload I was retained and on boarded

as employee to expand my role and move into and continue with:

 Revamping and re-designing the entire annual budget process and build up in Excel covering nine departments

 Lead the successful general ledger conversion to QuickBooks Online including all sub ledgers

 Primary lead for monthly closing duties for all months on both the old and new accounting systems Caught up

bank reconciliations, developed inventory balancing analysis, initiated standard closing checklist

 Initiated monthly - company and departmental - operating results via graphs and snapshots Excel to identify

and show historic trends, year-over-year and actual to budget results as there were none before

 Gained efficiencies by developing mass entry add on’s to Excel to map very large payroll entries into old system

 Presented plan to work remotely as consultant as the efficiencies gained throughout the new accounting processes demonstrated there is no longer a need for second full time accounting person – worked myself out of a job! lol

 Joined as full time accountant offering my experience and skill sets for temporary assignments

 On one day’s notice I accepted placement for short term accountant to jump into accounting void after

CFO was released and the accounting manager moved up

 Company was several months behind on closings

 Jumped in and with no training learned the old system that was very inefficient, and basically barely functioned

 Completed all closing functions and introduced first departmental month end reports

 Cleaned up all old files that were years old as well as current year

05/16 to 5/19 Controller
