Job Title: Technology Student Assistant
Classification: Hourly- Maximum 20 hours/week
Reports To: Hooshang Foroudastan, CTO
Job Summary/Objective:
The Technology Student Assistant is the first point of contact for students, staff and faculty seeking assistance for technology issues on campus They are members of the SBC ITS Services Team, providing technical support over the phone and in person, and maintaining the smooth operation of the SBC’s computer lab facilities The assistants also provide support to faculty, staff and students in areas of AV and instructional technology tools such as Canvas, Zoom, Slack and Microsoft Productivity Suite

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Essential Responsibilities:

Basic technical knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems and applications

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Knowledge of available campus software
Verbal and written communication and troubleshooting skills
Fast learner and self-starter willing to research problems independently
Customer service and/or tech support experience preferred
Eligible for employment with IT
Must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA
The ability to work independently, identifying resources and make independent decisions
Strong oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability and interest in learning technology related skills
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
Flexible hours for availability (including evenings and weekends) when the building is open
Positive customer-oriented attitude and professional image
