The WMU AdClub is a registered student organization dedicated to providing professional and social networking opportunities for students interested in pursuing a career in the advertising industry The AdClub hosts industry speakers on a weekly basis throughout the academic year, as well as attending various career conferences in Detroit, Chicago, and New York City A major initiative of the WMU AdClub is the distribution of a resume book, which is distributed to 75+ advertising firms throughout the U.S The WMU AdClub is also a collegiate chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the largest and oldest advertising trade association in the U.S., representing 50,000 professionals in the industry (www.aaf.org)
American Marketing Association
The American Marketing Association of Western Michigan University is a professional student organization whose purpose is to expand students’
understanding and interest in all facets of marketing beyond that of academic experience by providing professional, social, and service activities for our members We provide our members with the skills, knowledge, and experience they need to be competitive in today’s corporate environment The WMU American Marketing Association invites professionals from every industry to come and speak to our members, at bi-monthly meetings, about marketing and opportunities in the companies The WMU American Marketing Association also competes in the national case competition and has been a top 8 finalist several times in recent years

The student chapter of APICS (Advancing Productivity, Innovation, and Competitive Success) holds regular meetings that cover career preparation,
presentations by business professionals, company visits and social activities The ASC (APICS Student Chapter) has been able to develop into a strong organization with high commitment from its members because of the relationship it has with the professional parent chapter This guidance has developed a well-organized ASC that provides its members with incredible speakers, tours, and networking opportunities at the local and regional level
Beta Alpha Psi
Beta Alpha Psi is an international professional honorary organization for accounting students BAP strives to recognize outstanding academic achievements in the fields of accounting, finance, and information systems We also promote the study and practice of professional fields related to these disciplines While membership implies past academic achievements, emphasis in the organization is on professional development of its members and interaction between members and practicing financial professionals Active involvement is required and helps prepare members for the leadership roles they will assume during their careers Social activities and community service provide a lighter side of campus life and encourage networking among members
