All students are assessed using a minimum of two measures on their mastery of the nine

competencies that comprise the Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards of the Council on Social Work Education and any additional competencies programs may choose to add

Assessment Measure #1: (SWEAP Instrument: BSW Foundation Curriculum

Competencies

Yuma, Arizona Who assessed student competence:

Note: This is the first time NAU Yuma BASW program has utilized this

SWEAP assessment tool

Methodology:

(1) The program advisor used the SWEAP website to email

SWEAP-generated document to students through their NAU email accounts

(2) Students completed the on-line document and returned it to SWEAP via

the link provided by SWEAP

(3) SWEAP aggregated results; results utilized are from the SWEAP program

information

Social Work Education Assessment Project (SWEAP), overseen by social work program faculty

Outcome Measure Benchmark (minimum score indicative of achievement)

for Competencies 1-9:

A score of 3.5/5 on individual questions indicates achievement

Goal: 80% of the overall students to achieve competency on each of the 9

EPAS competencies

Individual questions: 3.5/5 Overall: 80%
