Points to Consider
Is this a right fit for me based on my strengths and goals?
o College courses may take more time
o You are building a college transcript
Courses may transfer differently to other institutions
o Check out transferology.com to explore the portability of credits
College courses follow the institution’s guidelines (dates in session, withdraw procedures)
There is a financial obligation to reimburse the district if you fail or do not complete a course, including
withdrawing with a W Failing or not completing a course may also affect your Satisfactory Academic Progress and ability to draw federal financial aid in college
Checklist to participate in CCP during regular school hours at your own high school
Courses are offered through Columbus State Community College (CSCC)
Register for the course on your high school registration sheet and in PowerSchool
Register with CSCC as a student – before March 24, 2017
o You can apply online at http://www.cscc.edu (click on the Apply to Columbus State button to access
the online application)
o After you apply online, an email confirmation with a Cougar ID will be sent to the email you
registered
After obtaining a Cougar ID, register your Cougar ID number with WCS
o Visit http://bit.ly/WCSCougarID
Submit placement scores
o Using the ACT?
Submit your ACT scores directly to CSCC through ACT
o Planning to take the Accuplacer?
CSCC is providing us the opportunity to administer the Accuplacer to our interested students
in our high school computer labs in the coming weeks There is no cost to take the Accuplacer After registering a Cougar ID with WCS, students will have an opportunity to indicate if she or he is interested in taking the Accuplacer in Westerville Interested
students will be contacted once testing dates are set
You may also choose to attend a testing center on the CSCC Westerville Campus or Main Campus Information about CSCC testing center hours and locations can be found on CSCC’s website at http://www.cscc.edu/services/testingcenter/ You will receive a score print out
at the testing center and should bring this to your school counselor for interpretation and to complete course registration
