Guidelines for Thesis Completion:

MFA in Creative and Professional Writing

Your completed thesis, with the Craft Essay, is due on the last day of the semester The electronic version of your thesis should be saved as a pdf (.doc or docx are also

acceptable) and should include the following:

• Title page

• Copyright page

• Thesis

• Craft Essay

• Bibliography/Works Cited, if applicable

All documents should be double-space and professionally formatted in the MLA style (A sample of the title and copyright pages follows here.)

Email the completed document to the MFA Coordinator, Dr John Parras, at

parrasj@wpunj.edu

Please title the electronic file as follows: SP19_LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_GENRE

“SP19” refers to the semester and year you complete your thesis “FA20,” for instance, refers to Fall of 2020, “SU19” to Summer of 2019, and “SP21” to Spring of 2021 GENRE should be either POETRY, FICTION, CREATIVE NONFICTION, or OTHER

“Other” refers to screenplays, technical writing projects or other professional nonfiction theses

Once received, your thesis will be uploaded to the university archives for permanent storage
