This issue of the “Scholarship Bulletin” provides information on many important items including SAT/ACT test registration deadlines and scholarship information Please read the “Scholarship Information Bulletin” and keep for future reference Make note of deadlines and be sure to request transcripts at least two weeks before you need them

Students who meet certain income requirements are eligible to receive fee waivers to cover the costs of these tests If you qualify for the free or reduced lunch program, you are eligible (even if you don’t eat here at CCHS) Please come to the Guidance Office if you need one If you use a fee waiver for the SAT or ACT, you may also receive fee waivers for some of your college application fees

Hurliman Scholarship Foundation

The Hurliman Scholarship Foundation offers four-year scholarships to high school seniors who reside in Fremont, Custer,

or Pueblo counties The applicant must demonstrate superior scholastic ability as evidenced by a minimum GPA of 3.5 on

a 4.0 scale They also must receive a minimum ACT of 23 and/or minimum SAT of 1150 The application period opens

Important Tips for College/University Scholarships!!

Most colleges/universities will automatically consider you for their merit scholarships based on your application,

transcript, and test scores In addition to these scholarships, they will also have university, department, and foundation scholarships available To be considered for these, you must complete a separate application Check the financial aid links

to find these applications (see link above) Also, many universities are offering a $500 bonus scholarship (added to your merit scholarship) if you apply by Nov 1
