the use of three (3) natural grass fields.

A synthetic turf field is a “workhorse” which takes the
burden of heavy play off all remaining natural grass
athletic fields.

Trang 14Q What is the alternative to a Synthetic Turf Field?
A If the MVC denies the use of a synthetic turf field , MVRHS may have to find a place to construct two (2) more natural grass fields to accommodate the existing use.
Area 1 &Area 2 are the only locations available at the MVRHS campus to expand and build two more natural grass fields
Due to Title 9 and ADA requirements, these fields would need to include roadways, parking, lighting, irrigation and associated site improvements.
MVRHS chose NOT to pursue this option
as it clear cuts mature forested areas and has a significant impact on our closest residential abutters
One synthetic turf field is the preferred alternative.

A If the MVC denies the use of a synthetic turf field, MVRHS may have to find a place to construct two (2) more natural grass fields to accommodate the existing use.
Two additional natural grass fields will provide increased nitrogen load and irrigation demand
to the Lagoon Pond and Sengekontacket watersheds.
Nitrogen Load: Over 500 pounds/year Irrigation Demand: Additional 2.0m gallons
of water drawn from our watersheds
MVRHS chose NOT to pursue this option.
One synthetic turf field is the preferred alternative.
Trang 16“All schools interviewed highlighted one of the most important benefits of the synthetic turf field was the alleviation of pressure on the remaining natural grass fields ” – Page 4.

Q What do the peer review consultants have to say?
Trang 20“I will only say that I wouldn’t be overly concerned if I had a well near a synthetic turf field And my town, Dover Sherborn, does have a synthetic turf field that has been there for about 10 years It is a conservative town that is concerned about their water,”
