Oversee the goals and mission of the American Indian scholarship program at Washington University’s Brown School with a combined annual budget of approximately $750,000 Procurement of external funding in 2014 is approximately $710,505 Key responsibilities include recruitment and retention of qualified American Indian scholars from sixty one tribes representing twenty nine states, management of grant funding, and supervision and evaluation of support staff Provide academic, professional, and financial support to current scholars; assist with curriculum development and research initiatives;

maintain relationships with program alumni; and collaborate with other centers within the School of Social Work, Medical School, and the St Louis community Oversee organization and execution of annual Pow Wow with a budget of $30,000 that attracts audiences of 5,000 guests Represent the Buder Center on university, community, state, and national committees and conferences, and facilitate

practicum placements in Indian Country

Working with a combined budget of 1.2 million, oversaw the fulfillment of the objectives and mission of the program such as: increasing the caliber of scholar pool and outreach by managing programs to engage scholars, maintaining sound financial and operational control, improving constituent satisfaction levels, maintaining a high level of scholar success, and enhancing nationwide awareness of the Gates Millennium Scholars program
