The Position: The College of Business is searching for an Associate Dean Clinical
Assistant/Associate Professor of Business Administration to start in January 2021
Minimum Qualifications: The minimum education requirement for appointment
to this position is a doctorate in management or a directly-related field from an accredited business school Previous administrative experience as a director, department chair, or an Assistant / Associate Dean of a business school is also a requirement
Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of superior administrative accomplishments,
successful student outreach and initiatives, and experience working with a diverse faculty are highly desirable
Faculty Responsibilities: This position carries responsibilities in the areas of
college administration, teaching, and service Faculty members typically teach four sections per semester, advise students, serve on university and college
committees and engage in professional development activities Teaching
assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the college
Administrative Responsibilities:
Communication:
• Hold departmental faculty meetings as needed and arrange for accurate meeting minutes to be recorded and disseminated in a timely manner
• Assist the Dean in marketing programs, student success, and faculty
accomplishments to prospective students, donors and the community
Trang 2Student Recruitment, Retention, and Completion:
• Coordinate college representation and materials for open houses and other recruitment events
• Work with faculty on strategies to increase the retention and success of students
Faculty Support and Evaluation:
• Address in a timely manner adjunct faculty requests, issues and concerns Inform the Dean of issues as appropriate
• Assist in assigning resident faculty to committees
• Assist with searches to fill full-time faculty positions Recruit and appoint, with approval of the Dean, qualified adjunct faculty as needed
• Meet with search committees and HR to review procedures
• Assist the Dean in assigning peer reviewers for adjunct faculty members
• Provide input to the Dean regarding adjunct faculty performance
• Supporting faculty development activities and assisting in securing needed resources
Curriculum Management and Program Delivery:
• Prepare class schedules for fall, spring, and summer terms
• Oversee regular curriculum review and revisions to maintain currency of programs Collaborate with emphasis coordinators
• Work with the Office of Academic Affairs to ensure curricular changes
secure required external approval (by SC CHE, SACSCOC, discipline-based accreditor, etc.)
Student Support:
• Oversee the assignment of academic advisors, and manage faculty advising loads
• Determine equivalency of transfer courses for students
• Process approval forms for academic petitions, overload requests, etc
• Review graduation applications
• Coordinate scholarships and student awards
• Address in a timely manner student requests, concerns, and complaints Inform the Dean of issues as appropriate

• Oversee timely assessment and reporting of learning outcomes with the College and ensure that reports specify how assessment data has been used to improve programs
Other:
• Other duties as assigned by the Dean
Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience
The College: The College of Business offers a Bachelor of Science degree in
Business Administration with seven emphasis areas: Accounting, Financial
Services, Health Care Management, Sports Management, Hospitality
Management, IT Management, and Management/Marketing; and the college offers a fully online Bachelor of Applied Science is Business Administration The college also offers a fully online Masters of Science in Management program in Quality Management The primary focus of Lander University is teaching and the College of Business emphasizes a student-centered learning environment The College of Business is accredited by AACSB International
