At KICK, we are motivated to respond to a sense of hopelessness in many young people today as 1/3 of young people aged 15 identify with a mental health condition, 2million grow up without a father at home, many are disconnected from local communities with 95% now not attending church We aspire to see a generation of young people who will reach their God given potential; where communities have been socially impacted; and where spiritual change has transformed a nation Our mission is to transform young people’s lives, with God's love, through sport and support We do this through values-driven physical education, street dance, mentoring, chaplaincy in schools and community KICK Academies to impact a sense of hopelessness and give them a hope for the future and a joy in the present
KICK work in Infant, Primary, Secondary, Pupil Referral Units, Private and Special Schools to deliver the following services with Christian values embedded throughout every session:
- PE National Curriculum - Transformational Street Dance
- Solutions Focused Mentoring - Schools based Chaplaincy
In all that we do we seek to live out our values to encourage young people to be aspirational, to be compassionate
in all circumstances, to deliver excellent quality sessions, and to be intentional in building relationships and sharing the gospel with young people every day and to show integrity in our decision making at all times KICK are
currently working with over 60 schools and have established 24 KICK Academies Our staff team has more than doubled over the last 2 years with KICK now employing over 60 staff As an organisation we are engaging with over 12,500 young people every week and come closer to achieving our mission as we reach more and more young people
THE KICK COACHING SCHOOL
With our move national in 2021, we are committed to developing new leaders in sports ministry across the country through our latest Internship Programme The KICK Internship Coaching School (KICS) is a 2-year bespoke programme which enables interns to be fully competent and job ready to deliver within Physical Education/Dance, Mentoring and Chaplaincy KICK contracts
KICK interns will have a certain amount of learning time, shadowing and delivery time each week with the concept
of paid independent delivery growing more as the programme develops All Interns will be placed on the DET (Diploma in Education and Teaching) course to ensure they not only have extensive teaching experience but also complete with a teaching qualification recognised nationally and the direct step below QTS Interns will also have intensive internal training and placed on a minimum of one accredited sporting qualifications Qualifications are separated into the themes and all have a relevance to the working job and requires self-study, practical or written exams which will be internally assessed and verified by the Quality team
The Interns week will consist of 4 days of delivery and one day of study and lectures The day of study will be around our themes that have been chosen to optimise the development of the interns on the programme
The six themes are:
• Physical Education & Extra Curriculum provision
• Solution focused Mentoring
• Chaplaincy
• Dance

Title: Internship
Based in: London (with potential for a different Region for Year Two)
Internship purpose
Our aspiration for the KCIK Coaching School is that we will develop new sports ministers across the country who will be upskilled to make a difference in their local community We want to both invest skills and knowledge in KICK Interns but also see them make a missional impact We want to welcome Interns to KICK who will be a part
of aachieving KICK’s mission of “Transforming young people’s lives, with God’s love, through sport and support”
We look forward to seeing KICK Interns trained to enable young people develop their sporting/dance ability through progressive sessions and assessment of learner progress in schools, weekend KICK Academies and community projects There will be further opportunities for KICK Interns to shadow experience professionals, develop new skills in office functions and specialist areas of interest It is our desire that KICK Interns will grow in
their relationship with God and thrive of missionaries as role models influencing their schools
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
The scope of this role is to deliver sessions for Primary and Secondary school aged children in a range of different settings KICK Interns will have meaningful responsibilities and will be accountable to our ACEII values described
as follows:
1 Be Aspirational: Develop relationships with schools and other sections of the community, to help in the
set-up and running of KICK in new locations
2 Be Compassionate: The intern will be a committed Christian in line with KICK’s Christian ethos to execute
KICK’s mission to share God’s love with young people
3 Be Excellent: To develop a variety of skills through training in sports/dance/education and Christian ministry,
to maximise the effectiveness of KICK
4 Be Intentional: To be a role model to young people in terms of Sports skills, fitness, spiritual leadership and
pastoral care
5 Be integral: To partner with a local KICK Academy to support and strengthen our work within the local
community
