District Recommendations

❖ Administration asks the Board to determine the location for

the recommended third elementary school by the end of

March 2021

❖ To place the new elementary school for the combined

East/Ralph Moody community on the Ralph Moody campus

The new school would open in the fall of 2023

➢ Ralph Moody students would relocate to Twain

Elementary School for the 2022–2023 school year during

demolition and construction

❖ To consolidate the Twain school community with an existing

elementary school and repurpose Twain in the 2022–2023

school year to serve Ralph Moody students After that year,

repurpose according to district needs

The focus of the February 2 virtual town hall was the consolidation

of the East and Ralph Moody communities

February 2 virtual town hall: more than 100 live viewers; more than 100 questions submitted

➢ Impact to teachers and school staff

❖ Purpose of 2018 Bond: replace aging facilities and provide

improved instruction for students

❖ Looked at all data from LRPC meetings from the last 2 years

❖ Looked at the 5–10 year plan

❖ Location of new boundaries; honors the north/south arterial

corridor boundaries

❖ Reviewed all questions/concerns from the town hall meeting and individual communications

❖ New elementary in this corridor within City of Littleton

❖ Combining two adjacent communities; not separating

❖ Ideally, Ralph Moody students will be relocated during the

2022–2023 school year during demolition and construction

➢ No students on campus during construction

➢ Allows architect to pick the best location for the building

➢ Gives architect free creative design for the site

➢ 75 years with new building and placement

❖ Repurpose East to serve the community and/or for district use 9
