Marquette University Raynor Memorial Libraries seeks to recruit applicants for an innovative and collaborative Research and Instructional Services Librarian The successful candidate will provide user-centered services in support of teaching, research, and scholarship for the College of Nursing and the Physician Assistant Studies Department in the College of Health Sciences This position reports to the Head of Research and Instructional Services
Responsibilities:
Serve as subject liaison librarian to the College of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies program:
a Select, manage, and evaluate information resources that support the curricular and research needs of the faculty and students of the College of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies Department
b Collaborate with faculty to integrate information literacy, including evidence based practice, into the curriculum
c Use relevant technologies to develop instructional and research support materials that facilitate the use of information resources and services
d Maintain regular communication with the departments about library-related news and developments of interest to the faculty and students
e Keep abreast of trends and developments in information resources and scholarly communication
f Assist faculty with federal funding agencies’ policies requiring open access to
publications and digital research data
g Provide expert support for student and faculty research, including systematic reviews
Provide reference service at the library’s Information Desk and virtually
Contribute to and learn from the profession through such avenues as local, state, and national professional organizations, presentations, and publications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
MLS from an ALA accredited institution
Experience providing instruction or training
Understanding of evidence based practice
Familiarity with publication trends and scholarly publishing issues, including open access to publications and research data
Experience with disciplinary electronic databases such as PubMed and CINAHL
Strong commitment to patron service and support
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability and willingness to work with colleagues in collaborative and team environments as well
as independently
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and an ability to work with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff
Commitment to professional development
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Trang 2 College course work in the health or life sciences
Experience teaching evidence based practice
Experience conducting systematic review searches
Knowledge of data sources in the health sciences
Experience with assessment tools and techniques
Demonstrated liaison experience in an academic library setting
Collection management experience
Appointment at Assistant or Associate Librarian rank
