The mission of the Texas Tech Highland Lakes Alumni Association Scholarship Committee is to support those individuals seeking financial assistance in reaching their academic goals through Texas Tech University Thank you for your interest in the scholarship opportunities available through the Highland Lakes Chapter of the Texas Tech Alumni Association Higher education is a vital component of both personal and professional growth, and
we appreciate the commitment you are making to better yourself and the community we share
The Sherry Lesley Memorial Scholarship will include the option to renew for multiple semesters As such, a personal interview with the final candidates will be required
This form (along with your personal statement and recommendation letters) can be returned to TTU Highland Lakes
by one of the following options: email, fax, mail, or hand delivery
GUIDELINES
1 Applicants must have already been accepted to Texas Tech (Highland Lakes or the main campus in Lubbock)
2 Female applicants only
3 Scholarship applications must be received by April 15th
4 Scholarship(s) will be awarded in mid-May for the fall semester (with renewal option for spring)
5 Scholarship(s) will be mailed directly to the Texas Tech to be deposited in the student’s account,
6 Recipient(s) may be asked to attend fundraising events to sustain the income of the scholarship
About Sherry (essay prompt):
Sherry Lesley loved life and family, and enjoyed a very successful career in business, while always making time for civic work She also loved “all things Texas Tech.” This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving female student who exhibits Sherry’s dedicated work ethic, determination, and strong sense of civic responsibility It will be awarded based on grades, financial need, and the qualities reflected
