CRITERIA CHECK LIST

_ NEEDS CONSIDERATION – 25 POINTS: Consideration will be given to students from

low-income families and to those who have brothers and/or sisters in post-secondary studies A statement from

parent and student is included and parent signature is also included.

_ ACADEMIC – 25 POINTS: Consideration will be given to students with Grade Point Averages of 2.70 and higher and acceptable achievement test scores from (SAT: 1200 or ACT: 17) An official copy of the high school transcript is included and score results from SAT or ACT.

_ CHURCH, SCHOOL & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT – 20 POINTS: Applicants should

exemplify examples of good work experiences, volunteer services, leadership, school and community

responsibility A list of this involvement is included on application and should be included in letters of

recommendation.

_ COMPOSITION – 25 POINTS: (300 – 400 words)

Write a 300-400-word essay on the following topic: Voting: “What is the importance of voting?”

RECOMMENDATIONS – 5 POINTS: At least two letters of recommendation are submitted with

the completed packet Students should consider recommendations from the following: teacher, school

administration, counselor, community leader, employer or pastor
