The Iranian Heritage Student Award for the College of Arts and Sciences provides annual support for

students in the College of Arts and Sciences, especially those from Iranian descent and interested/engaged with Persian poetry and/or music To participate, applicants must submit an original written work that will be reviewed by a selection committee consisting of faculty in the College

Undergraduate or graduate students whose area of study is in the College of Arts and Sciences (with preference for English, Linguistics, World Languages and Cultures, Art or Music) at Northeastern Illinois University are eligible

to apply Applicants may be enrolled full time or part time Applicants who are currently seniors must have at least one semester remaining prior to graduation to be eligible

Submission deadline is 4:30 p.m on June 15

250-500 word short essay describing your interest, engagement and commitment to Persian poetry and/or music.

Submissions may include an informative or persuasive essay; a creative format (e.g., a poem, submission of Persian music performance by the submitter); a journalistic approach (e.g., opinion/editorial piece); an open letter (e.g., to a public/elected official); or a personal narrative
