CHAPTER I: ABSTRACT

When starting college, it is critical to have a study plan A study plan not onlyhelps us improve the quality of our studies, but it also helps us foster and formpositive habits like always working with a plan, always being conscious, andalways willing to perform Planning, self-management, and effective timemanagement are all essential

This report aims to build a study plan for myself in four years of university, including analyzing my strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities, thereby Ican set goals and a study plan to achieve those goals Having a study plan willcreate the basis for me to plan a suitable career path, meeting my needs andabilities

CHAPTER II: PERSONAL SWOT ANALYSIS

A SWOT analysis is a standard professional tool for evaluating a company's past, present, and future position It gives organizational leaders a fresh perspective onwhat the organization does well, its challenges, and which paths to take

It can also do the same for someone pursuing their career goals It gives youinsights based on your personality strengths and weaknesses, the challenges yousee ahead of you, and the opportunities available to you now and in the future Iapplied the SWOT matrix as following:

Trang 6

Figure 2.1 SWOT analysis

2.1 Strengths

- An open-minded, curious, and creative learner: To identify all the factors that

contribute to problems and devise practical solutions, I am open to a wide range ofideas, including those that are considered strange or different from my own, so that

I frequently astound my friends with a fresh perspective I am also open to newexperiences, enjoy experimenting with other methods of performing tasks.Overall, these characteristics aid me in quickly absorbing knowledge andsignificantly improving my problem-solving abilities

- Willingness to learn: I always desire to learn new knowledge and develop

myself continuously To be specific, I am highly passionate about the E-commercemajor, which has been my first choice of major since I was in high school.Realizing that the knowledge provided by the lecturer is just backgroundknowledge, besides taking note of what was taught, I regularly seek out documentsthat are related to my major and constantly update knowledge from many anglesthrough reading magazines, information on the economy, society, politics, technology, …; reading information about businesses, entrepreneurs and

Trang 7

especially the case-study shared by companies and analyze the reasons why they

do to reinforce what has been taught

- English skill: I took the Cambridge English Language Assessment) the previous

year is a multi-level English skills testing system that assesses test takers' level andability to use foreign languages My English level on the CEFR scale is B2, whichmeans I have the ability to comprehend the main points of complex texts on bothconcrete and abstract topics, interact with native speakers with a level of fluencyand spontaneity that allows for frequent exchanges without stressing either party, write explicit, detailed texts on a wide range of topics and explain a point of view

on a current issue, weighing the benefits and drawbacks of various options I thinkthis skill is beneficial in the era of integration, which helps me a lot in my study, like quickly understanding the resources written in English, and assists me increating my job opportunities

- Presentation and communication skills: In my high school years, I often took

on giving interactive presentations, which used to be my nightmare but soonbecame something I am thankful for By doing this, I have the chance to practiceall languages areas as well as essential skills Moreover, this also enables me tocommunicate better in almost every area of life; specifically, giving presentationshelp me create novel ideas and develop critical thinking My confidence will also

be improved as a result of preparing for this valuable skill

- Time management skill: I pride myself on time management skill, which is

essential during my university years, especially when it comes to handling somany assignments that are due around the same day Thanks to prioritizing, breaking down the tasks, and having a master schedule, I never failed to meet anydeadline, even completing it as planned earlier This skill will not only help meinside the university but also improve my career opportunities

- Teamwork skill: Another skill I possess is working well with others During my

first year of university, I have collaborated with a team of four members I always

Trang 8

contribute ideas to the team's activities, meet deadlines on time, and respect theopinions of the other team members, even if they differ from mine And as proof

of effective group work, my group has never missed a deadline for any subject, and the results have been very positive

2.2 Weaknesses

- Impatience: I get easily annoyed when my friends and teammates perform at a

slower pace than I do because I set high work standards for myself, and I expecteveryone to do the same

- Being easily distracted and hard to get back on track: I get distracted and lost

focus easily due to environmental factors such as physical noise, light or socialmedia use, as well as internal factors deriving from my emotion such as worries, stress, or the bad quality of sleep This has a significant impact on the quality of

my studies and work performance, so I am trying to limit social media use asmuch as possible, prioritize goals and give myself a shorter time frame to getthings accomplished

- Need more based-skill in coding: Coding skill is my other weaknesses It took

me a long time to analyze the problems the lecturer gave and come up with asolution Another problem was that my approach was not optimal, and I had tospend a lot of time correcting the errors I am trying to develop this skill gradually

by directly asking the lecturer what I didn't understand during class time and myfriends who are good at programming if it was outside of school hours and took anonline coding course to broaden my knowledge about programming

- Leadership skill: I am weak at conflict resolution skills For fear of

disappointing others, I try to avoid conflict as much as possible As a result, thesituation seems to get worse Perhaps this weakness stems from my lack ofconfidence or from being overly sensitive: I am always afraid of other peoplethinking negatively about me, afraid of making them uncomfortable.Consequently, I am unable to make consistent and certain decisions

Trang 9

- The development of technology: Nowadays, information technology is

advancing at a breakneck pace It enables us to be active in learning and masteringknowledge, assist people in finding work, and work more efficiently

- A large market with many opportunities: Vietnam's e-commerce market is

proliferating and will continue to do so in the coming years This has been proven

in other markets worldwide, including China, which is very similar to Vietnam inmany ways This is why we are now seeing a large number of investment fundsand large corporations decide to enter and invest in the Vietnamese e-commercemarket because the majority of them are aware that this will be a "profitable"market shortly Now is the best time for anyone interested in getting into the field

of e-commerce The understanding of human resources and the willingness ofVietnamese consumers to buy and sell online has grown significantly over theyears I believe that being an E-commerce student is my great strength

- Working in multinational companies: Having a good command of English is

my advantage when applying to international companies In addition toqualifications and experience, English has become a recruitment criterion for somebusinesses for candidates It is not only a language, but it is also a key for newrecruits to quickly learn further information in an international foreign languageenvironment

2.4 Threats:

- The complicated development of the COVID 19 pandemic situation: This has

a significant impact on my learning, especially to one who is easily distracted like

Trang 10

me Besides, it prevents me from participating in clubs and outdoor activities, resulting in a lack of practical knowledge.

- The quick development of technology: Although technological advancement

has provided many benefits to people, it also necessitates that each individualconstantly updates my knowledge and skills in order to avoid falling behind

- Competition from students in the same and opposite majors: There are

numerous reasons to work in E-commerce, including its rapid advancement andhigh salary These are the factors that have resulted in many students, includingstudents who do not study e-commerce but are interested in fields related to e-commerce That necessitates an urgent need for me to constantly improve myskills and professional knowledge in order to avoid being pushed out of the labormarket
