Cách dùng:
+ Dùng để diễn tả 1 hành động hoặc 1 khả năng không có thật trong ở quá khứ.
Ex: If you had come sooner, you would have met her
(Thực tế rằng trong QK bạn không đến sớm nên không gặp được cô ấy)
Cấu trúc:
Mệnh đề if: Chủ ngữ + had + P II.
Mệnh đề chính: Chủ ngữ + would have + P II.
Ex: If my cell phone hadn't been broken, I would have contacted you
