The line graph indicates the amount of fish, lamb, beef and chicken eaten by a person per week in a European country from 1979 to 2004

Between 1979 and 1989, the most favorite meat in the country was beef as its

consumption was highest at around 180 and 240 grams; nevertheless, beef

represented a significant fall from 200 to 100 grams from 1989 to 2004

In 1979, lamb meat was the second favorite food to the people in the country as its consumption was 150 grams; however, the figure had consequently declined and reached 60 grams in 2004

Spoken communication is more powerful than written communication To what extent do you agree or disagree?

(Write at least 250 words)

YOUR ANSWER

Over the past decades, communication has become an instrumental factor in human society Many hold a belief that spoken communication is more powerful than written communication; however, the counter-argument raised by the opponents to this is that communication by documents is always more worthy than that by verbal From my perspective, written communication has proven its importance for the following reasons

On the one hand, it is noteworthy that spoken form consists of body language and facial expression Therefore, sociological studies have shown that by verbal

communication, the speakers can express their ideas more effectively and promptly This view is true to some extent A telling example in this point is the presidents of America They always had excellent speeches to win elections; or last year, Former

Trang 3

President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden had a face-to-face debate about their campaigns for the country to gain the American president position

On the other hand, the counter-argument raised by opponents to this is that written communication exerts vital elements in official documents and some circumstances This argument is reasonable to some extent; regarding cooperation agreements between countries, announcements from authorities, or business contexts, writing documents are required; however, in many meetings, speeches from leaders are considered the official claims to the relevant people For instance, in verbal

communication by telegraph between the Heads of Vietnam and Australia, the information exchanged is the official terms that will proceed for the two countries

In conclusion, under no circumstances should people overlook the fact that verbal communication is more effective than written forms as the reasons mentioned above./
